Burnt out, remedied and came back stronger?
Hey!
Anyone want to briefly share some stories about the envitable burn out being in the finance industry, taking a break and making a strong comeback? or leaving the show all together....
I could see some professionals not taking the proper vacation time, working in shitty conditions for a year too long, etc. But not wanting to leave the show because you have good career momentum, etc.
Maybe some of you did a year break/career gap (www.gadventures.com) but it would be great to hear some stories about a break, vacation, etc. that helped in regenerating that drive and coming back stronger.
Thanks!

Interested to hear some

Good is the enemy of Great
at this point in my career as
at this point in my career as well.. had an opportunity to take a real break but decided to jump back in the workforce immediately.. would have been good to take at least the summer off (or the rest of the year).. never really heard a story about people coming back strong.
working any job, taking a year gap and then trying to go back to a normal 9-5 (or 15-20 work day) job is rough. the adjustment is one thing, and then refreshing ur skill set like building a book, working in excel, hell even sending proper work emails is tough when ur accustomed to sending brief texts and "acronymized" emails
i think if ur able to get out (voluntarily or involuntarily) - take the time and really evaluate whether coming back makes sense. then u can think more about coming back strong..

I'm making it up as I go along.
