Canadian B-School Undergraduate Disadvantage? Transfer to the US?
Would you say it's a disadvantage to attend a Canadian B-School at the undergraduate level?
I start at Queen's University next month, and have been wondering if I made a mistake by applying only to Canadian schools (15k CAD tuition VS 40k USD tuition) as from what I've heard, Canadian B-schools are considered to be non-target (which is odd considering Queen's has been ranked the #1 b-school outside of the US for 3 years in a row - businessweek). When choosing where to apply, I believed the RoI would be much higher at a Canadian school, but I'm starting to think otherwise.
My long-term goals are to enter IBD at a bulge-bracket bank at the analyst level, then an MBA, then re-enter IBD and/or then move on to PE.
Thus, I've been wondering if I should be looking to transfer to one of the top US B-schools. I'm confident I can pull a 2200 SAT score, a GPA of ~3.6-3.8 all with stellar work experience.
If so, are there any schools in particular I should be targeting? .
Thanks for your help.

GS, MS, JPM, UBS, BofA, Big
GS, MS, JPM, UBS, BofA, Big 5, plus pretty much everyone else recruits from Queen's. Numerous 2010 grads are working NY/HK/Tokyo for these firms.
The extra tuition is definitely not worth it.
I am sure you will have all of these questions answered when you come to Queen's.

Jesus you've been thinking
Jesus you've been thinking about investment banking since high school? Get a life kid.
That said, the businessweek rankings are for MBA programs. Queen's Bcomm is top notch and places well on Wall Street.
Admittedly it would be easier to get into a BB at the analyst level from a U.S. Ivy, but even then there is no guarantee.

Thanks for your timely responses,
@evilbyaccident, I like to plan medium-long term into the future. I'm sorry if that offends you in any way, but it's just the way how I like to do things.
@daveveitch, Thanks for the encouragement.
Anyone else have any advice/suggestions?

An interesting way to measure
An interesting way to measure the prevalence of any university alumni in any company is going to linkedin.com and for example searching: RBC University of toronto , you'll get a long list of potential UofT alumni listing their place of work as RBC in the present or the past.
If you really want, transfer
If you really want, transfer to the upper tier of Ivies (HYPC+W) for better BB placement. You still have to work because the kids who get SA positions are all 3.6+ and some have prior experience. Best of luck...

I heard firms are reluctant to sponsor non-u.s citizens for employment visas, should that not be considered in making this decision? Correct me if what I heard is wrong.

A Canadian citizen who qualifies as a NAFTA professional ("economist", for example, or anything else on the long list of professions) doesn't need to be sponsored. Refer to State Department website for details on TN status.
