From AM to IB or Consulting
Hi guys,
Thanks in advance for reviewing my resume. I graduated from top 25 business school and am cfa level 3 candidate, and have been trying to transition into Investment banking or consulting from AM. Before I send my resume to all of my contact, I was wondering if there is anything I should change or add.
Thanks.
your bullets don't line up in the "additional information" section.
just curious - your current role sounds like an associate PM, is it pretty much the same thing? a lot of associate PMs leave my firm to get MBAs and transition into banking/consulting, but it sounds like you want to lateral into an analyst position right?
"for all of portfolios" is wrong. "for all portfolios" is better, but still doesn't entirely make sense. i don't think you need these 4 words, unless I am misunderstanding what you are trying to say.
"develop analytical tools based on Excel" - should be based IN excel (i think). Furthermore, you later state they are used by vast majority of your company. Well that means you already developed them, so you should use the past tense ("Delevoped"). The lack of parallel structure there is ok if this was a one-time project. Also, instead of vast majority, use a percentage, or a number. Vast majority makes it sound like you are full of it. Vast majority implies 75%+, and that would sound way more impressive.
you should quantify "significant decrease" in efficiencies and trade errors if you can.
your resume says you are fluent in Korean twice.
work experience should be on top after you graduated
having a separate section for CFA only is questionable. maybe include under other info, especially since you are trying to go away from AM into non-CFA industries.
hope that helps
good luck
