C: 1st year at a NYC middle market, home is on the West Coast, will likely work from home tomorrow but nothing extreme. Took off yesterday and flying back to the city on Sunday. People were in for a couple hours Wednesday and almost nobody shows up Friday after Thanksgiving.

BTbanker:

Anybody else stuck in the office today?

Gotta love a Seamless turkey dinner.

I know this will sound trite as all hell, but fuck it lol: be thankful that you have a job to work, even today.
in it 2 win it

if by corporate finance u mean working at GE or IBM, then no.

in IB, if people are busy, then yes.

Sometimes people work in the morning and make it in time for dinner.

i once worked through all of thanksgiving day and was able to take the following three days off (fri, sat, sun)

------------ I'm making it up as I go along.

I was called in at 2pm on thanksgiving, while I had family in town. I went in for 2 hours and luckily was then sent home as the deal ended up getting delayed.

The problem isn't being called in on holidays, its not knowing if you will be.

--There are stupid questions, so think first.

I went home for a total of 48 hours my first thanksgiving and 48 hours my first Christmas. As a second year, I went home for four days for Thanksgiving and my xmas got torpedoed by a Vice President who sent me full revisions to our CIM on Christmas Eve with a turn expected the following Monday (the killer: we were writing the CIM early to show that we were dedicated to the deal -- we hadn't even done our internal due diligence yet).

I'm in PE now -- I'm taking five days for thanksgiving and 2.5 weeks for xmas.
