Who would you rather MBA: Arizona State or UConn?

I know both are low-rated MBA programs, I'm just wondering, given those only two options, which MBA you would choose to try to break into I-banking.

Look, not to be a d-bag, but don't go to either. I went to a non-target UG and it was one of the biggest waste of times in my life. It opened up 0 doors, and as a matter a fact closed more than it opened you could say.

I'm not sure what your limitations are or if you are focusing on those programs, but I doubt either one is going to get you were you want to be, even if you are focusing on boutique. Take some more time and do what it takes, either higher GMAT, more WE, etc. Hard to give my recommended next steps without the info, but you get the idea.

Again, I'm not trying to be the elitist dickhead that you see on this board too often. But straight up, this is a shallow and brand/prestige driven industry, and those schools lack the luster for you to check that box.

"They are all former investment bankers that were laid off in the economic collapse that Nancy Pelosi caused. They have no marketable skills, but by God they work hard."

I'm with CU on this one. Sometimes the message that you do not want to hear, is the one you need most.

Please don't quote Patrick Bateman.

spot on

UConn is the lesser of two evils - they at least have a presence on Wall Street with several MBA alums floating around whom you can network with. The geographic location is also better.

Good luck!

Since this grave dig isn't on me... this. Finance is ridiculously easy to learn and everything you need to know you'll just learn on the job anyway. It turns the whole "educational experience" (quoted because it's not what it is) into nothing more than a way to buy OCR, a network, and prestige (another way of saying you'll be given a "look"). If a school doesn't offer these, there is ZERO reason to attend. I'd go so far as to say that MBA programs outside of the top (insert subjective # here) purely exist due to people's misunderstanding of how the game works. That said, ASU has some unbelievably good looking women and I think it'd be a riot of a 2 year experience.... but not nearly enough to justify going. lol

I will never understand why people like @CountryUnderdog who are ignorant and don't have a clue about schools other than what they read on this forum will spew shit and sway people because they "attended a non-target UG" and that somehow grants them the inside information, skill, and knowledge to assess every single school in the nation.

This forum is drowning in a prestige mentality disorder, but the truth of the matter is you can get into IB from top 30 schools.

Carey has an Investment Banking Industries Scholar Program http://wpcarey.asu.edu/finance-degrees/investment-banking

This program places 90% of it's canidates in internships or full time offers with a ton of banks and all the BBs. ASU is a massive school and therefore has the resources to prepare their canidates and consequently your network is 4x 5x larger than most schools because there are 70,000 students.

Goldman, JPMorgan, UBS, All the Big4, Citi all recruit on campus multiply times a year.

tl;dr People don't know what they are talking about, ASU has a program that places 90% of canidates in IBD, stop drinking the koolaid.
