I fly routinely enough and I really don't have an use. 6ft, 210, bigger than "normal" or whatever that means. My ass fits perfectly fine in the seat with room to spare. Americans are getting fatter and that is our own problem. This chick isn't fat, she is morbidly obese.

Also, gotta love her quip about being nice. She went ballistic on some dude mentioning to her and then was passive aggressive on the guy for the rest of the flight. Practice what you preach ham hock.

LOL

Calm down.

You should be able to charge fat people a percentage of your ticket costs because they take of X% of your seat.

Typical modern feminist.

Preaches one thing, practices another.

Shows up to a flight hungover and late, but gets angry when someone points this out. I find it so funny that that modern feminists are usually just like this girl - fat, white, upper middle class, well-educated. But they want to lecture everyone about how disenfranchised they are and how awful the "privileged" man treats everyone else from their position of power.

Yeah, going off my previous comment, I wonder why it is these feminist white women are so quick to be the victim.

They literally have to make up "social prejudices" to fulfill their victim complexes. "Thin privilege" - I am discriminated against because I'm fat! Well, I don't even want to go into how being fat is a reflection of your outer character. So it makes sense that people are repulsed when they see a 350 lb ham beast waddling down the sidewalk.

Furthermore, do they really think being fat is even slightly comparable to being a minority (in any country)? Do they really think fat people face systemic persecution that rivals the persecution of black people pre-Civil Rights movement? Off-topic, but it pisses me off that gays are comparing themselves to the Civil Rights movement. Do they not realize the audacity of that statement?

Sorry for the rant, but this fat girl really made me go off.

hungover, late and irritable. That sounds like a winning combination late or otherwise.

Who writes this stuff? I mean seriously, travelling on airplanes, despite what many think, is not a right. They do not HAVE to accommodate you with larger seats. In fact you even have the option to buy larger seats in first/business class. Your weight is something you directly have control over, unlike many other things in life. Look I get that it sucks and you feel embarrassed about it but It can't be that bad if you don't choose to change it.

I think quite a few airlines tries to implement that actually, but when that idea first surfaced, there was such an outrage, that they quickly decided against that idea. The same goes for the idea to charge extra for seats far away from families with babies/small children or to create an extra section for these travelers. I bet everyone would pay extra to not have to listen to someone else's child cry for the entirety of a flight, but no airline would ever want to be the first to implement it.

Nothing worse than fatties stuck next to you on a plane.

In fairness though, @"TNA" at that size, aren't your shoulders broad enough to make it an issue? That has been my problem. My belly is fine (could still use a little slimming I suppose), but my shoulders are LB-esque b/c I've lifted on and off since H.S. I definitely bump into people next to me (or the cart since I always grab an aisle seat).

I mean I don't think my shoulders would fit between the little arm rests, but by hips do. I think the issue with fat people is that their entire body spills over vs. just shoulders or something.

Always aisle? Hmm. I try and do window since I have the bladder of a camel. Plus you can lean into the window and get some extra space.

Ha, I wish I could say the same. I piss far more frequently, which makes those SEA -> DCA flights a bitch if I get stuck on the inside.

I do agree there is a difference between being obese and being broad, but I'm just saying that I have found it difficult to do work at times on some of the very small planes (thinking United Express, AA Eagle type).

Charging by weight is a tricky thing since it is really all about penalizing people who are outside size norms. Plenty of tall people, jacked people, etc not fitting into those seats. IMO, this is what flying is. They need a certain amount of seats to be profitable and some people benefit (tiny women) and some people get screwed (fat people and people who are stuck next to them).

I do support penalizing fat people. If I have to subsidize them (as we all do now) through government programs then tax payers have the right to penalize them for their decisions. No one needs to be fat and anyone saying it is genetic is free to come to my apt and find out if this holds water. I am sure 6 months in a fucking cage with a vitamin and bread and water will disprove this myth quickly.

This is all the more reason to fly with only a few airlines and get preferred status. The people who fly infrequently can deal with it because they fly infrequently.

Fully support that.

+1 Preach on!

Coming back from Iceland I sat next to a monstrous woman. Surprisingly it didn't really bother me too much. I think it depends on the flight and the airline.

IMO, the worst people on planes are the ones that never fly. Fucking idiots. Oh, and people with small children. I will take an apologetic fat person over some parent with their child screaming and crying the whole flight. Make them pay more also.

As much as I dislike being next to someone fat I think the people who make cunty comments are about as bad. Like shut the funk up bro. Coach sucks because people such in general. I fly coach just as much as other people but I keep my mouth shut and get it done with. Fat people such, kids suck, inexperienced fliers suck, drunk people suck, etc etc.

Word. Most of the be benefit of business isn't necessarily the extra space (although this is the key benefit for overnight fights), but just not being next to the people that fly coach.
