Bankers are extremely overpaid and don't deserve high salaries

BUT

Sarah Palin's daughter, the one who got fucked.. I mean was impregnated by hockey d-bag, will make $15k-$30k per speech on teen pregnancy.

She is a fucking moron. I saw a speech of hers recently where she denounced the separation of church and state, and tried to claim that the founding fathers would agree with her. She is first in line to criticize the current administration for walking all over the constitution, but she would do the same thing if she were in his place (in particular trying to tie together the church and the state). She is voice of the ignorant masses. Her family, like her audience, are just a bunch of proles.

looking for that pick-me-up to power through an all-nighter?

Who the hell would pay 15K to hear about the perils of teen pregnancy from someone whose parents are worth millions?? I could find a pregnant teen for 20 bucks who would tell everyone how much it sucks.

Why can't Palin just do a Playboy spread for godsake.

AnthonyD1982I feel bad for McCain who is going to be blamed for the rest of his life for this chick.

so for 2 more years big whoop

Maybe it's because I am a female myself but I like Sarah Palin; just not in politics. I don't find her anymore clueless than any other politicians but of course bc she's a female the media had to make it look like she doesn't know her a** from a hole in the ground. If you take away Obama's 26 yr old ghost-writer, he probably won't be the sharpest knife in the drawer either. And John McCain is on his last breath anyway so it doesn't even matter if he makes sense.

I don't understand how a teen mom with rich parents is talking about teen pregnancy. Talk to the 17 yr old H.S. drop out on food stamps/welfare, living in a box with a man who has a mullet down to his knees, who hasn't bought herself as much as a lipgloss in the past year bc her Walmart minimum wage barely covers rent and food.

wtf are you talking about? She didn't know Africa was a continent and her idea of foreign policy experience comes from being "close" to Russia as the Alaskan governor. She has demonstrated a severe lack of simple intellectual reasoning skills which should be a prerequisite for running for the US presidency. But hey, she winks at you, so I guess you feel a connection.

For the record, Bush was the one who made the "country of Africa" comment.

Yet more proof women should not have power...

Have you read this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama

"Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the president of the Harvard Law Review."

In all fairness, Bush went to some good schools also and people call him a retard. I am sure Obama would sound a lot less polished if you took away his holographic teleprompter. I think people would like him a little bit more if he even tried to be a normal guy. When you need a teleprompter to talk to kindergarten kids that really says something.

What bullshit regarding the teleprompter thing. Sarah Palin is a complete idiot. This is a woman who can't name 3 magazines off the top of her head. Obama, as mentioned, was President of the Harvard Law Review, and any doubt about his eloquence that the skeptical still harbour despite the evidence of his early speeches can be found in 'Dreams From My Father', something he wrote just after law school. The comparison is ridiculous. Republicans really will clutch at straws to criticize the guy, while their heroine reads notes like 'praise America' off her palm during softball interviews.

There is some great stuff on here, really enjoyed reading through some of these posts, good entertainment. Also, Check out the Matt Damon interview (probably on youtube), it's quite funny.

1) Palin is a fool, no one is comparing her intelligence to Obama 2) Matt Damon should stick to making movies. Hollywood is far removed and out of touch with 99% of Americans. 3) Obama is a fine speaker, but he relies on that damn teleprompter too much.

Everything I just said is a fact.

AnthonyD1982Hollywood is far removed and out of touch with 99% of Americans.

So as politicians. Average Americans don't graduate from Ivy Leagues, let alone finish top law schools.

Being more educated than the average American and being ideologically removed are two different things in my book. I just think Hollywood is living in their own little bubble even more so than Washington.

Palin is a fool, we got it. Obama is way more intelligent. I don't see anyone debating that. Frankly, Mr. Potato Head could of ran against McCain and he would of won. Republicans were going to lose no matter what. Dems were running against one of the most unpopular presidents in recent history.

I may not agree with Obama's policies, especially as of late, but I would never challenge his intellect or public speaking ability. There's a reason he was so popular. He rallied a lot of people and gained significant support, stealing the primary from a clear front-runner. Academically, he's done extremely well; in the office, he's shown that he understands relatively complex issues (McCain's grasp of finance seems on par with most college freshmen) and continues to articulate himself well. His interpretation of what needs to be done is different from myself and many other members of this forum, but he's free to his own thoughts and opinions and in no way do they shadow his intellect.

Palin, on the other hand, is a complete fucking moron. The woman went to ~4 different schools and ~5 years to graduate from some shithole in Bumfuck, Idaho. She has done nothing since then to dispel the air of idiocy surrounding her, especially not her numerous televised interviews where she repeatedly showed her shocking lack of awareness of the world around her. But hey, voters can relate to her! If the average American EVER became President, God help us all...

Saying that bankers are ones that caused the financial crisis makes about as much sense as saying that it's my electrician's fault my toilet won't flush

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolfpack Buyside strongside

Obama's political campaign is probably the best example of how to run a campaign. That being said, he is just like the next average politician. Nothing more, nothing less. IMO his two major fuck-ups:

1) Spending spree is fucking ridiculous. Passing healthcare bill is ok; bailing out banks is ok; sending more troops is ok as well. Doing all of that in one year in the midst of global financial crisis is not ok. 2) Sending more troops to Afghanistan. History tends to repeat itself, and maybe he should have visited this page before sending more troops: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_war_in_Afghanistan

Obama didn't win the election of 2008, Republicans lost it. McCain did everything in his power to lose it, and he still managed to get some votes.
