Fixed Income Resources

I was hoping you smart folks could recommend me some solid fixed-income resources. Basically, I know very little about fixed income valuation/analysis, but I'd like to change that. By resources, I mainly mean books (textbooks or otherwise), but I'm also interested in any websites, articles, tutorials, videos, and anything else that's out there. Thanks in advance.

...i would just get the cfa prep books and ignore the ethics stuff (kinda like the CDO funds at bear and goldman)

the fabozzi book is good, just very long. for ur purposes a corporate finance textbook from wiley finance (brealy meyers) and the cfa books plus whatever u find online would be more than enough.

------------ I'm making it up as I go along.

Agree with Fabozzi and Inside the Yield Book, I also like Distressed Debt Investing (Which is recommended on here all the time but still) if you'll have any exposure to distressed.

There have been many great comebacks throughout history. Jesus was dead but then came back as an all-powerful God-Zombie.

thanks a lot guys...really appreciate it

so as i understand, here are the best 5 books for learning about FI. thoughts/suggestions?

Fixed Income Securities by Tuckman The Handbook of Fixed Income Securities by Fabozzi Inside the Yield Book by Homer/Liebowitz Distressed Debt Analysis by Moyer The Handbook of Municipal Bonds by Fabozzi

What in FI will you be doing?

Jack: They’re all former investment bankers who were laid off from that economic crisis that Nancy Pelosi caused. They have zero real world skills, but God they work hard. -30 Rock

I would take Fabozzis Handbook and just focus on that. No sense in reading 6 books that dense. You'll get much better value by really focusing on one, building excel models with the stuff you learn etc.

If you know your desk then you can also go for a more specific book on that product.

Second just getting Fabozzi's Handbook. I added those others just in case someone was specializing in a particular debt product.

"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."
