Search it. It is a good firm--works on a lot of M&A deals. Has the reputation of being a sweatshop.

Due diligence cases = shorter timeline = longer working hours = sweatshop.
Places better into PE than a good amount of 2nd tier firms (from what I understand), probably on par w/ OW/Monitor overall. Also looks strong overseas, moreso than many of the 2nd tiers.

If you mean lateral in after one year post MBA, I'd say very unlikely. My firm hires next to no one laterally unless they are very in demand subject matter experts at a more senior level.
No idea about MBB, but I had a friend from LEK that recently got into a PE firm with no MBA
You might be able to. I know a guy who spent two years at another lower-tier consulting firm (small like LEK, but less prestigious) before lateraling to McKinsey.
But I don't really understand why you would want to lateral to MBB. LEK's a great firm, and your exit options aren't going to be that much worse than they would be at MBB. If you lateral to MBB after 1-2 years, you'll be treated as a first-year analyst, which kinda sets you back. Unless you have a very specific long-term career goal that you think you'll be much more likely to achieve at MBB than LEK, I'm skeptical this is a good idea.

Btw OW's NY Receptionist, last I checked, was equally hot.
I interviewed at LEK boston offices. Nice folks a big mix of targets and non targets.

I interviewed with them once. They came across as very nice and laid-back, placing a lot of emphasis on fit. However, your case-solving skills are obviously also important. In Europe they have an M&A arm and are often mandated by private equity houses. They said they set great store by the work-life balance of their employees. The work experience also seems to be good, with consultants doing rotations, e.g. guys from Europe can rotate - if they choose to do so - to US offices. I guess if I were not in IB, I would definitely consider LEK as a place to work.

They do a lot of work with PE and the life sciences industry. Projects tend to be relatively short, averaging about 4-6 weeks for each, so you'll get plenty of different cases over a short period of time.

Yes. They do.
I've heard its a total sweatshop. In general shorter projects will kill you, and whoever above said that they do mostly shorter projects are correct. I'm also speculating that the infrastructure isn't as solid as it is for the bigger firms.
Healthcare Practice is top notch. They are for sure a sweatshop. I would assume that they place in PE/HF/VC pretty well.
Think they have a PE practice as well. Anyone care to share any thoughts on that (client base, exit opps, etc)? Thanks!

Their placement is similar to MBB + OW/Booz/Parthenon etc. At MBB you have best odds of H/W/S, but people from OW/Booz/Parthenon/Monitor/LEK/etc are all at H/W/S + Kellog/Tuck/Columbia/Haas/etc... Just go on linkedin and search for people who have worked at LEK and are now at an MBA, and you'll see people at H/W/Haas/tuck/kellogg/sloan etc
Don't really think LEK guarantees anything. There are kids at M7 schools outside of HBS/S from LEK. If you're in MBB, your chances at HBS/S/W are fantastic. Anything else doesn't guarantee shit other than you have a good shot at an M7.
