Most Abysmal Company on the Planet?
My vote goes to Time Warner...a shining example of the worst customer service possible.

I don't think you've ever dealt with Comcast...
If Your Cable Company Told the Truth -- powered by Cracked.com
LOL...I actually have some experience with Comcast - agree its up there (or shall I say down there?), but the sheer anger and hatred I have for Time Warner is still unmatched. Their service centers are like a human zoo and idiot circus bundled into one. I'm not sure I agree with the whole oligopoly notion though, in the sense that Verizon is actually decent in terms of quality.
Best Buy. Haven't shopped there since I started using Amazon 3 years ago and don't plan to ever start again.
Sears
A whole lot of Ackman hate lately, huh?
I've only had a couple problems with Verizon (billing) in probably 10 years I've been using 'em, no experience with TW thank god. Comcast, it's just a shitshow. Everything, that is. Customer service, billing, install, transfer, etc. I've had great experiences with them, but I'm always apprehensive because it's like a 60-40 split (good-bad experiences). That's not a good record for a company heheh.
Even though I have never used it, I may have to throw Facebook in the mix as one of the worst as well.
I don't think you've ever dealt with Cablevision...
Ackman has an affiliation with Sears?
Shit, my fault I was thinking JC Penney. Shitty companies are interchangeable to me, apparently.
Sort of related: I hate Steve Ballmer.

I always wondered what the eye of the tiger looks like. Long MSFT.
+1 for twc being the absolute worst, which was why as soon as Verizon fios became available in my area I called to switch ASAP
I don't think ive EVER heard anything good about Comcast. Ive dealt with them for years and its an absolute nightmare.
Sprint is terrible too.
Spirit Airlines is the worst...
Also throwing pets.com in the mix, classic dot-com era bust
Any reason why service providers tend to just shit on everybody?
To be fair it's not every single service provider, just most. For example Chase has great service...the other day I went to a branch and told them I was too lazy to fill out their forms, so they filled them out for me.
Sorry haha - by service providers I meant more along the lines of the telco guys - internet/cable/phone etc.

Never even heard of Cablevision...
US Airways
My first and only experience on that shit airline: DFW->Charlotte->NYC.
9PM - Wheels down, about to land in Charlotte, pilot pulls up without saying a word. 10:30PM - Pilot says computer malfunction has rerouted us to Charlottesville...VA. 2AM - Leave Charlottesville on a bus. 4AM - Go to sleep in a trashy motel; might as well have slept under a bridge. Did I mention I lost (stolen?) my watch and iPod? 5AM - Wake up to make a 7AM flight to NYC 7AM - Get bumped to a 10:30AM flight. 10AM - My very important meeting in NYC starts...without me.
What did they give me for my trouble? A f*cking $50 voucher.
Jeez I've heard about a couple terrible Comcast experiences from friends, had no idea this was a trend
Ditto on US Airways.
Yeah my dad had a similar experience with them. Bought a lawn mower from them through their website. Got it delivered and found out that a couple bolts that basically hold the thing together were missing. So he went to the local store and asked if they had any spare bolts. They did. Did they give them to him? Nope. They're plan was to return the entire mower, refund his money, then have him buy a new one and have it shipped out to him, AGAIN (no other mowers in store). Needless to say he left a mower light and headed straight to Lowes. No wonder Sears is in the toilet, with that level of genius working there.
I worked at Sears for 2-3 years in HS and a couple summers in college. Management at the store/regional level is abysmal across the board and a majority of the employees are arguably illiterate.
vector marketing. i was so excited when i got that letter in the mail...
JCP. Good god I just hate their stores. Sears might be as bad on the customer service front, but I actually like their merchandise.
Best Buy. Not so bad if you're tech savvy, but they do their best to screw the uninformed consumer. In the early 2000s they pushed magazine subscriptions, now they push $100 cables / set up services. I mean what other store would direct consumers to an alternate version of their site to deter price-checking?
TWC is way worse than Comcast (experience with both). TWC gets bad reception (or something?), which I didn't even know was possible with cable.
Geek Squad pisses me off just because they have the nerve to charge $30 to install iTunes.
was going to post this. I've dealt with both and not sure which is worse, both are absolutely horrible
Time Warner - record 5 visits to my apartment in NYC, problem still has not been fixed after almost a year.
US Airways oversold my flight from Philly to San Diego last winter and didn't get a seat. Put me on a flight the next morning and wrote me a check for $1300 (cost of the ticket was
I wouldn't know what commercial air travel is like. Must be fun.
I've had some good ass times on airplanes. There was a group of 45 of us flying from Moscow to Tel Aviv. The Russian flight attendants gave 0 shits and were partying with us in the back half of the plane. Some dude's wife got banged in the bathroom and then he got punched in the face (the married guy) when he got rowdy about it.
Had a good time flying back too. In Russia, they told us that we couldn't bring alcohol on the plane after we bought lots of it. So I had to chug two bottles of wine before going through security. We had tons of little JDs though and the flight attendants gave us a bunch of bottles of cheap wine.
I met this really cool Irish flight attendant chick flying from Punta Cana to Chicago who got drunk and talked shit with me all flight. She liked my traditional Mexican suede tassel jacket with FOUR horse embroideries, so we went out when we landed. Was fun.
