Everyone is going to tell you the same thing - network.

The only other I advice I could give would be to crash OCR at another school that DB and McK recruit at.

So, if I visited family in Philly or something like that, could I go to a DB or Mckinsey info session at Wharton and drop off my resume there? That seems kinda far fetched.

Also, I have a good family friend who works at BoA ML. I've known him since I was 5-6 yrs old. He's a managing director there. How can I use that to my advantage?

  1. It has been done before. There are a bunch of threads of people who have tried it, some of whom have been successful. It definitely takes some balls, but there is no harm in trying.

  2. Call him and ask for some career advice. Tell him you are interested in doing banking and would love to hear about what made him successful. At the end of the call ask if there is anyone else you should talk to or, depending on how the call goes, see if he can pass your resume along. This is another thing you should do some searching for. Networking 101, and it's way easier when you already have a connection with the person.
