I am a career switcher currently working in the insurance industry in a quantitative position. I will be enrolling in CBS this fall with the goal of entering the S&T industry after graduation. However, given the current market conditions, I would like to get experience on a trading floor this summer. Does anyone know the best strategy to take to network into the industry before I start my MBA program? My goal is to gain first-hand experience on a trading floor to build relationships and better articulate my fit with the industry during summer recruiting at CBS. I am willing to work for free, on any desk, and I am very flexible on my responsibilities (I have no problem getting coffee all summer).

I did not go to a target undergrad so my current contacts are very limited and Career Services will not help until I enroll this August. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
