Growth Equity in SF?

Wondering what some of the top shops for Growth Equity/Late Stage VC are in the Bay Area? Used search function and found TCV and Summit but was wondering who else is out there?

If you aren't able to turn up a list of growth equity firms in San Francisco as an IB analyst, you're beyond hope.

there are essentially two types of growth guys

  1. cold calling, relationships
  2. MM LBO shops who focus on "growth" companies and industries

for the first...you have spectrum, summit, tcv, ta, norwest, redpoint (started its growth equity recently), etc

for the second...TPG growth, silver lake sumeru, STG, vector, Thoma Bravo, etc.

GA is definitely not a "pure" growth" player as they focus a lot more on bigger (upper MM) deals

"...the art of good business, is being a good middle man, putting people togeather. It's all about honor and respect."

Unless its under a newly filed name (being post Lehman collapse) or is a completely separate entity, how does #10 on tht list exist or how is it able to use that name? Wouldnt it just be under Barclays now?

Excuse me if the answer is obvious, i was just confused...thanks

Good attention to detail. You should probably just google it yourself next time.
