Shit to do in NYC before SA

Hopped off the plane a few hours ago, and I have two days to kill in NYC.

My summer internship in IB starts in 2 days. First time on the East Coast, and I don't know anyone in the area.

I want to keep the sightseeing shit to a bare minimum. I'm thinking just taking the subway to Wall Street and maybe taking a look at the Statue of Liberty. Maybe check out a museum. Maybe the Empire State, but that's about it for the sightseeing. Don't want to spend more time on that.

I will be in NoHo for the summer. Any good suggestions for stuff to do for the next two days? Bars, Museums, etc?

Walk down the street. See bar. Enter. That's how I do it anyways haha

If you don't know anyone in the city you won't have fun, going to bars alone is the saddest thing I' ve ever heard of. I'd say take advantage of the free time and DO all the sightseeing shit. I've been here for a few years and haven't gotten to statue of liberty (which is shit so not ever planning to), or a single museum. And its not the work, its the drinking that kills any of your 'cultural' endevours.

Sluts do it ALL the time. Of course the OP probably isn't going to the bar with the intention of trapping a rich guy right?

If you need bros with you to get laid thats pretty weak. I roll out alone here and there and it is always happy hunting. A group of friends is like a crutch.

ive lived in ny area my whole life (21 years) and statue of liberty/tourist shit blows. thats why i haven't been to that stuff since i was ten and went on field trips. empire state building or something is cool if you have time.

of course, maybe time square bores me cause i work there all week and fucking tourists get in my way on the way to lunch (not to mention these fucking people selling obama condoms and the guys that ask if you like comedy, who the fuck doesn't)

if you have a day to kill, try doing a pizza day. i used to do this when i was younger... get a slice from a different pizza place in every borough. this will allow you go really see the city, eat some good pizza, ride the subway, travel around, etc. you can also rate it if you really like pizza (then declare a winner)

pm me for some suggestions of good pizza places in different boroughs if you are actually interested in this idea (i have a book on pizza and ive been to a bunch so i know my way around a good pie).

also if you are with a bb most museums will be free with photo id

For anyone interested in doing a pizza day:

I broke my list into places that sell by the slice and places that sell just pies (you'll have to go with someone or you'll have to eat alot). The pie places are more authentic NYC pizza, but they are usually sold at sit down places where you have to tip, take more time, and require a group. Also, if you are visiting every borough, make sure to plan out subway route in advance to minimize the time you are on it.

By the Slice: Staten Island: (Trust me these places will be far... you'll have to take ferry then SI rail/bus) Nunzio's: 2155 Hylan blvd Joe & Pat's: 1785 Victory Boulevard (I've been to both these places and they are good but trust me coming from Manhattan they will be quite the trek... you can probably find ok pizza close to the ferry (google a place called pronto pizza) but if you are willing these places are pretty good)

Brooklyn:

Di Fara Pizza: 1424 Ave J (I've never been here but I've read great things: They get a lot of pizza fans so they jacked up prices to $5 a slice) House of Pizza and Calzone: 132 Union Street (been here its pretty good but its been 5 years so i don't remember that well) L&B Spumoni Gardens: 2725 86th street (never been here) Sal's Pizza: 544 Loreimer Street (been here its alright)

Queens: Rizzos: 30-13 Steinway Street (this place is good, they have a great sicilian) New Park Pizza: 156 Cross Bay Blvd (this place is great but trust me its far)

Bronx Louie and Ernie's: 1300 Crosby Ave (this place is pretty good)

Manhattan: Famous Joe's Pizza: 233 Bleecker St (this place is good, its famous cause it was in Spider Man) Stromboli Pizza: 112 University Place (great place) Ray's Pizza (the real one is at 27 prince street; everything else is trash)

If you want to go to sit down pie places, here are some suggestions

Staten Island Denino's: 524 Richmond Ave (this place is great, and the atmosphere is great, its all like 40 year SI people)

Brooklyn: Grimaldi's 119 Old Fulton Street (this is the best: i've waited an hour in the cold for a pie from here) Totonno's 1524 Neptune Ave (they have a sister branch at 1544 Second Ave in Manhattan: I've only been to manhattan location and its very good)

Queens Nicks Pizza: 108-26 Ascan Ave (great place)

Bronx Patricia's: 1080 Morris Park Ave (Ordered from here never been but its good) Mario's: 2342 Arthur Avenue (this is a sit down restaurant but the pie is delicious) Zero Otto Nove: 2357 Arthur Ave (also a restaurant but its amazing)

Manhattan: John's Pizzeria: 278 Bleecker (the one in times square sucks but bleecker is pretty good) Lombardi's: 32 Spring Street (i think this place was the first pizza place in america i could be wrong but i think it is)

I know other places as well but this is the bulk of where I've been and would recommend. Enjoy!
