I have look around this site and it seems that there are not that many consulting internships available for sophomore students. I am really interested in consulting and I was wondering if anyone know of any potential opportunities that I could look into!

Consulting internships are already near impossible to get (MBB).
I'd highly recommend you email local strat. consulting firms and try to see if they would let you intern (perhaps for free if you are able) and just learn about the trade. Try to express your sincerest interest and not this as some type of resume booster for next summer.
Alternatively if you are a strong candidate try to get into a banking sophomore internship which will help you get interviews with MBB (and others) next summer for the junior internship.

What division in banking would you recommend? I would think PWM, but what about IBD?
no no I meant...
no no I meant if you are a very strong candidate to try for one of the sophomore IBD summer rotation programs, but they're rather difficult to get into, and there are many other opportunities such as at regional banks (and im sure strat. consulting firms) that would set yourself apart more than doing PWM.
