Women and Pictures

So my girlfriend bothers me a helluva of a lot for not taking enough pictures of myself and the things I do. My facebook is empty aside from a handful other people put up and I removed all vacation pictures because of privacy concerns. Its becoming a little annoying she consistently hounds me about it and I was thinking I might just cave.

Stupid question perhaps haha but I was wondering whether the guys here take a ton of pictures of them and the things they do or do they get hounded by their girlfriends! Just a thought and I figured most people here would shed some light on whether I'm a weirdo for not doing so or whether she's just obsessed with pictures like every other girl in the world.

I haven't uploaded a picture in over 3 years, and that ones still my profile pic. That said it's nice when family/friends have interesting pictures of stuff their doing, but 90% of the ones on there are boring crap.

ie. picture of buddy posing with the bear he just bowhunted - very cool. picture of a couple girls duckfacing the mirror before going out on friday - f*king lame.

I never really take pictures of myself. Any photos of me are ID photos, holiday photos with friends/family, or photos of some event.... I'll also admit to having snapped a photo in the gym mirror after a particularly great workout (there was nobody else on the floor).

But girls? They go out one night and come back with two dozen photos. How do you even do that??? I might have two dozen photos of myself from the past decade.

As a newly certified user, and a man ... I must reply. How many men do you see carrying cameras and taking photos? Think about that. You should have something along the lines of zero.

Now, if you are secure and you have a need to take a photo and post it ... do it! You can take your woman's comment into consideration. But she should not influence your final decision. Neither should I. By the sound of it .... you are not a bro that snaps picks of himself and the general surrounding. At least not in my opinion.

In a week, let us know if you took some pictures.

I upload pictures from travelling for friends, that's about it.

I'm glad to hear all this, thanks guys! Yeah, I'm not at all the person taking pictures of himself all the time. I havent uploaded anything in years, my profile picture remains one from about 3 years ago!

I'm just getting a little tired of her constant complaining! Like if I'm at work and head to lunch, I see something interesting, she wants a picture sent to her about it! She does it all the time so she automatically reverts to that defense and she just doesnt listen to reason. I guess middle ground might be the best course of action.

Middle ground is not the answer. If you find this mildly irritating now, you'll want to kill her for this behavior if you stay together longer term. No man is constantly sending pictures of himself to his girlfriend all the time. Frankly, I think she's just trying to spy on you.

Spying is the right answer. If it was the pictures she wanted, she'd say something like "we don't have enough pictures of you and me."

All we need to do is show a little class, a little sophistication, and we’re in like a dirty shirt.

Really? I think spying perhaps may be a little extreme! I completely agree with your points but I have nothing to hide of course.

I hate it when people do that! No one gives a damn about what you had for your meal. And please, don't post pics of yourself on FB all the time. I always feel like those girls think too highly of themselves.

And if your girlfriend wants you to do this, ask her why. She sounds as if she's a bit too obssessive...if you don't want to do it, then don't do it.

I'd ask her flat out but she laughs it off as nothing so I move on. A week later we're back on the same issue. She's away from me right now so maybe its just that but still its odd to me!

I dont see deactivating my FB as a solution! I agree with CRE's point about how more pictures are her responsibility if she wants them.

I guess what I'm really confused on is why this is such a big deal. Anyone with any insight so I can school her the next time she brings it up?

Basically explain to her that your memory is good enough and that you don't need pictures to remember the moments.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Actually, maybe you'd have something to fall back on if you ever forget her bday/v-day

Haha I dont see that working. Its crazy!

New mothers are the worst - one of my good friends from high school just had a baby and there's probably 5 or 6 pictures every couple days of nothing more than an ugly newborn's face. Wtf, nobody cares woman.

ugly newborn's

Dude, exactly. Babies aren't even cute until they're like a year out or something.

It's not that they're actually cute from an aesthetic perspective. They're considered cute because this is the best they will ever be. Once they start learning, they turn into pieces of shit real quick :-p
