Can some please give me a ranking of Energy Groups in Houston? I have some second round interviews that are conflicting, and I need to turn some down. I have seen the Energy League tables, but I wanted some opinions from here on the rankings. I have interviews with BBs (Barclays, GS, Citi, UBS, etc.) and boutique firms (TPH, Simmons, etc.), so feel free to include both on the list. I want to work for a bank that has a great culture, but also sees a lot of deal flow.

You have some second round
You have some second round interviews and you need to turn some down? Why would you do that....the more opportunities you have the better. I would not turn any down.
As far as rankings, you cant go wrong with BB...CS, RBC, Barclays, JPM all do well; GS and UBS are also good; TPH is great. Moelis just started a group down there not too long ago and brought an ex GS Brady Parish to make moves. Looks like a great group. I would not turn down any of those interviews....that would be foolish. The more offers, the more leverage.
Good is the enemy of Great
Barclays and Citi are the
Barclays and Citi are the strongest of the ones you listed, so definitely take those. UBS got hit bad when most of their group went to Citi last year but they have made a few senior hires from MS and Barclays that could mean a good group their again in the future. None of the places you listed would be bad places to be though. Pick based on who you got the best sense of from your first round interview.
By the way before you cancel why don't you just tell them you have another interview that day and ask if they can interview you the day before/after?
