I like it.
U2
I once lived in a tenement with thinest of walls, my gay neighbor played Joshua tree in serenading his flock one day Bono's voice was too loud in the halls, so I got my best cleaver and chopped of his...
The album, I like. It is one of the few U2 Albums I can listen to, as it was released before the preachy bullshit days that would soon follow.
The Bar, not so much...
referring to the bar. note the tags of 80s and cheap drinks lol
There are J Trees all over Boston. More of a sports bar scene though.
love J Tree... depending on the night there can be some interesting characters for sure... I had a few wild nights there this past summer as an SA...
My favorite bar in the city is Emmett O'Lunney's/Harmony View in Times Square. Nice and low key dive bar where folks can talk. The Campbell Apartment at Grand Central is pretty cool too. Both are good for people who enjoy conversations more than loud music.
Joshua Tree is ok, but the crowd is way too hip and 20-something banker-snobbish. At least that's how it was pre-crash when I was going there with my friends from the analyst program. At least it wasn't as bad as the Hudson Hotel or The Pink Elephant.
I can't believe how popular J tree is
First time I went out in boston with some of my friends they said "were goin to J tree"
I'm thinkin its some hole in the wall place...
it was poppin, i liked it. would do again
its definitely a hole in the wall place. and def far from classy but seems to attract bridge and tunnel and then analysts and associates that just want to get trashed
times square is whack. should monkey shit you for promoting a times square bar as your fave :P
The place is lame. In Boston try Sail Loft or a number of North End bars.
There are multiple J Trees in Boston? I'm only aware of the one in Brighton. The bar is okay -- I'm pretty sure they recently got shut down for a week for watering down the alcohol. Pretty much just endless college kids or recent college grads.
I think the J Tree in Somerville is the original. Very far cry from the NY and Brighton ones, its absolutely tiny.
way too packed in the midtown location; obv good for late night cattle
great album.
also a really cool national park.
lol i like how i was referring to the nyc location and all these other references are coming out of the woodwork ;p to each their own though i suppose... are the boston ones owned by the same nyc people?
I had no idea there were locations in Boston, I just naturally thought you were speaking of the Manhattan location...
I believe so, or at least they used to be.
If you can't get laid at Jtree you have issues. That bar is the shit.
