The Goldman Sachs in NYC is the only good one, right?

When people refer to "Goldman Sachs" they are usually talking about the one situation on 85 broad street, am I right? The one located in Jersey City is mainly for the mid-office/back office work? Correct me if I am wrong.

I heard the only way to know which goldman office is the best is to take a giant load of cum in the mouth from a Goldman MD, gargle it, spit it into a pot, boil it with a virgins hair and chicken bones, pour it over a prism, and look through the prism at at days first light. Then, only then, will this great mystery be revealed to you.

^^ He's lying. Utah is their ops hub. Nothing else. Why would you have IBD in Salt Lake?

I'd be willing to bet that the operations guys in Salt Lake City have more buying power, than the IBD guys in Manhattan. But, who in their right mind would want to live in Utah?

[quote=thefreshbiz]Check out my review on my experience at Goldman Operations in Salt Lake. http://www.thefreshbiz.com/2011/02/15/goldman-sachs-operations-review/[…]

Not gonna lie, at first I thought this was spam but I read the review and it was actually decent. Kudos.

Wall Street leaders now understand that they made a mistake, one born of their innocent and trusting nature. They trusted ordinary Americans to behave more responsibly than they themselves ever would, and these ordinary Americans betrayed their trust.

I wouldn't be so quick to knock GS Utah. Ever heard of Dan Jester? He came out of GS' Utah Office and he's still a mystery to the world, but he is the most well know mystery you could think of.

Just sayin...

No FO, no risk. It is mostly ops, technology , tax, some controllers, reg reporting, etc.

You can add to that internal audit and accounting functions. I get the impression that half that building is empty.

This would be so convenient for me.

If only there was good things to say about Operations/BO type work..

Ops at GS is far from the worst thing in the world. There was a girl on here a few weeks ago who took GS ops over a decent position at a Big 4.

None of you have actually answered the OP's question. So I will answer it, yes when normal people talk about GS they generally assume that the NYC office is the entire company because thats usually all the media ever refers to. How ever GS is a massive multi national bank with offices all around the world doing work in hundereds of countries.
