Is it just me or did the movie make Jamie Dimon look like a complete rockstar (not that he isn't) in the movie? They just made it seem like he ran shxt.

Book did the same, maybe Sorkin has a hard-on for him. I think there is one chapter where all the banks send their COO/CFOs to some meeting and Lloyd shows up and see's no Jamie, and he quickly leaves without word, as to say "wtf" Jamie ain't here this meeting is below the CEO level.

Lol that part was funny. Another funny part was when the weekend before Lehman went under, and all the CEO's were at the fed. Dimon shows up in a polo shirt and John Mack and another CEO talk about how great of shape he is in.

Has anybody seen the "Fall of Lehman" movie. Well in there they made it seem like Fuld was trying to get a deal done from the get go. I mean literally DESPERATE! Calling Ken Lewis and other regulators (Paulson, Bernake) all hours of the day begging for capital!!!

In this movie they made him seem like an arrogant dick (no pun intended) who was positive a great deal would come across his desk if he just held out. I'm was surprised at the part when he said "f**k Warren Buffet"

So i'm just trying to figure out what his mindset really was at the time.

Going to watch TBTF but I just saw Inside Job which was a sensationalized smear campaign, but we all expected that. One thing that was surprising - brokers, traders, bankers that were expensing strippers, prostitutes, etc to corporate accounts. I didn't realize you could get away with shit like that.

People tend to think life is a race with other people. They don't realize that every moment they spend sprinting towards the finish line is a moment they lose permanently, and a moment closer to their death.

I think its too new to be online. Last night was the premier. I have to watch inside job, I never heard of it until now.

I just check HBO go on iPad and the movie is available to viewing there. That would include iPhone as well, but you would still have to have HBO access from your cable provider.

You can always subscribe for a day or two then cancel and pay the pro-rated charge of about $2 if not less lol

If you have HBO at your house you can view using HBO GO, just choose cable provider.

As for the movie, I thought it was pretty good. First of all, Bernanke was hysterical. He had this peculiar humor (soon to make one line my sig.). The movie did a good job of showing the crisis from Washington's perspective. Some parts were direct slaps at the idea of "making money" (Doesn't everyone do this) but it was definitely entertaining.

looking for that pick-me-up to power through an all-nighter?

I thought the book was much better.

The acting was unfortunately sub-par (Timothy Geithner anyone?) despite having a pretty good cast. The script was okay but nothing to write home about. To be honest, I feel like they could've made it flow a bit better and inject some more drama into it. I'm not clear as to whether it was trying to be a movie or a film? HBO could've made it into an interesting mini-series..

Overall, I thought it was entertaining.. Obviously some revisionist history, but still fun to watch.

There was this one cheesy scene, where Paulson and his team are trying to explain to their press secretary what to say to the media about the AIG collapse (CDO bundling ect)- It came off looking like one of those pharma commercials where two people are having a fake conversation, but the intent is to really inform you about the drug- It felt really dumbed down, I guess because I am in the industry.

Anyone remember this part?
