When will UBS drug test?
Have an interview for a UBS position, I'm wondering at what point they will drug test me? Will it be during the interview? A few days after? Weeks after?
Much appreciated, thanks.

I got an offer and sent it back signed before they gave me a date to come in and piss with a woman sitting at a desk outside the stall. You dont get tested (in my experience) until you get the offer.
After you sent you signed your offer what was the time frame for coming back in? A few weeks or a few days? Thanks for the reply, was quite helpful.
What division?
Haha. Not to be a douche, but do you really think that they would welcome you to the interview room by making you pee in a cup?
Weeks after you accept your offer. Some BBs don't drug test at all. Just don't do drugs, honestly. You'll have nothing to worry about.
My experience is that they always do it during the interview, pretty sure thats SOP. They just tell you to whip it out and start pissing
Ha, yeah. That may have been a bit naive but I'm just trying to cover all my bases.
At the firm I worked in last summer, you had to have passed the test before Day 1 at work.
I don't understand why firms would spend the money to test every candidate they interview. That just seems like a cumbersome waste of resources.
They don't. The only guy that suggested this was being incredibly sarcastic.
roflmao
OP, it depends on what firm you're interviewing for. Some firms want you to test lots of drugs others are tee to tapers and don't let you test any drugs because its not in their culture.
UBS does drug test and it will be once you receive the offer
If all goes well what time frame would I be looking at? From the interview, to getting an offer, to the test deadline. Thanks for your comment, 'tis appreciated.
Once you get an offer they usually get hot in the nuts to get you in the chair to start cranking. From offer letter in the mail I think i had 10-14 days before I was to show up.
You might want to seek help if you think staying off drugs for a month or more is a serious obstacle for you.

Shouldn't be a problem, really only do it to get my mind off school work. Thanks again for your help, as soon as I figure it out I'll give you my banana points.
What type of drugs OP?
Weed. Nothing too crazy, pretty boring stuff.
Got it. Just stop now, drink a bunch of cranberry juice and life will be good.
I don't know what you should be more worried about - the drug test or the fact that you're joining UBS
Can't help but laugh (agreeably) at this.

SA position in New York, and i have been informed of a drug screening in one month prior to employment. Could anyone tell me if it's a urine or hair test please?
Just ask HR, they should know best.
that would seem really suspicious.... i was hoping to find an answer here
.
Yea I was being sarcastic. It's most likely a urine test- that's standard procedure. Either way, just stop using any drugs. There's not much else you can do.
hair for me
Hi,
You can get total information regarding hair through this site, the site is http://drugtestsinbulk.com,
Thanks Mspaul
could anyone worked for UBS in the last couple years share some information please? i assume all the UBS positions in the US go through the same procedure
no one is out to get you. you're probably just going to be asked for a urine sample.
3 years ago UBS asked me for some pee.
They actually gave me a polygraph test, and then water-boarded me when I failed...
Unreal.
i heard that they used to ask their underage SAs to produce and sustain an erection, to see if they had been drinking recently.
lol you guys are funny. its urine. their gonna make you do fingerprinting as well.
I love all of these drug test questions- they're actually starting to get more common than the interview and summer prep questions. I'm still waiting for someone to come out with a course like "Wall Street Drug Test Prep"- that would be pretty funny.
In all seriousness, the process for most banks is typically you getting an email from HR, saying you need to go into a testing facility (usually near you) in the next few weeks, and take a urine test. It will take 30-45 minutes.
you are going to be urine tested. the bank will send you a consent form that you bring to a screening lab. pee in a cup and the sample is sent to a lab for diagnosis. i'm pretty sure you will not be notified of the results since you have signed your consent over to UBS.
look, this is more of a stupid test than a drug test. they tell you far in advance of these things.
urine.
I never heard of these kind of things in Europe, is this typical to the US?
I dont understand how it can be such a huge commitment to stop smoking as soon as you know you got the interview. Better be safe than sorry.
In Europe they also do that.
You are asked to bring your own pee from home, and then they ask you to pee again in their facilities...
Typical drug test dude, just like the other banks.
Did one for UBS last summer, its a pee test

May be working at UBS ny in the fall in PWM. Do they drug test? And am I screwed if I show up positive for weed?
Yes they will drug test. Stop smoking pot.
Has anyone ever heard of firms (BB or otherwise) doing hair testing?
why would they waste money on a hair test?
Companies really dont care if you are doing drugs, they just have to give lip service so religious groups and moms of America wont protest them. Hair tests would mean they actually care. It would also mean they want to waste money on something which really doesn't impact your work. If you are smart enough and motivated enough to get a banking job who cares if you light up on your own time. I am sure alcohol and coke are bigger issues.
Gekko I am not doubting you but I would like to know why you are so sure UBS PWM drug tests even in the fall.
What, is marijuana temporarily legalized for foliage season?
The only people who hair test are the Feds and Budweiser
Bottom line, is it worth the risk? I have done a lot of different drugs and none of them are worth losing a job over. Knock your shit off for a month and be a professional.
please im not that stupid. Ive already begun the rigorous detox process.
i know for a fact that UBS PWM does do drug tests for the fall. good day.
they dont test for meth. so just switch over
Drug test not mentioned in contract UBS, still possible to have one? (Originally Posted: 06/05/2013)
My friend is wondering if he will have a drug test on his start date with UBS. He already had an education and criminal background check months ago and nothing was mentioned in the offer letter or emails. Should he be worried?
Your friend huh.
Your friend been smokin those funny cigarettes OP?
