NYUI got an offer and sent it back signed before they gave me a date to come in and piss with a woman sitting at a desk outside the stall. You dont get tested (in my experience) until you get the offer.

After you sent you signed your offer what was the time frame for coming back in? A few weeks or a few days? Thanks for the reply, was quite helpful.

mydoggeorgeHave an interview for a UBS position, I'm wondering at what point they will drug test me? Will it be during the interview? A few days after? Weeks after?

Much appreciated, thanks.

Haha. Not to be a douche, but do you really think that they would welcome you to the interview room by making you pee in a cup?

Weeks after you accept your offer. Some BBs don't drug test at all. Just don't do drugs, honestly. You'll have nothing to worry about.

My experience is that they always do it during the interview, pretty sure thats SOP. They just tell you to whip it out and start pissing

Ha, yeah. That may have been a bit naive but I'm just trying to cover all my bases.

I don't understand why firms would spend the money to test every candidate they interview. That just seems like a cumbersome waste of resources.

They don't. The only guy that suggested this was being incredibly sarcastic.

NYUYou might want to seek help if you think staying off drugs for a month or more is a serious obstacle for you.

How about staying off drugs for good? Just something to think about.

NYUOnce you get an offer they usually get hot in the nuts to get you in the chair to start cranking. From offer letter in the mail I think i had 10-14 days before I was to show up.

Shouldn't be a problem, really only do it to get my mind off school work. Thanks again for your help, as soon as I figure it out I'll give you my banana points.

youngmonkeyThey actually gave me a polygraph test, and then water-boarded me when I failed...

Unreal.

i heard that they used to ask their underage SAs to produce and sustain an erection, to see if they had been drinking recently.

lol you guys are funny. its urine. their gonna make you do fingerprinting as well.

I love all of these drug test questions- they're actually starting to get more common than the interview and summer prep questions. I'm still waiting for someone to come out with a course like "Wall Street Drug Test Prep"- that would be pretty funny.

In all seriousness, the process for most banks is typically you getting an email from HR, saying you need to go into a testing facility (usually near you) in the next few weeks, and take a urine test. It will take 30-45 minutes.

you are going to be urine tested. the bank will send you a consent form that you bring to a screening lab. pee in a cup and the sample is sent to a lab for diagnosis. i'm pretty sure you will not be notified of the results since you have signed your consent over to UBS.

look, this is more of a stupid test than a drug test. they tell you far in advance of these things.

In Europe they also do that.

You are asked to bring your own pee from home, and then they ask you to pee again in their facilities...

Yes they will drug test. Stop smoking pot.

"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."

Companies really dont care if you are doing drugs, they just have to give lip service so religious groups and moms of America wont protest them. Hair tests would mean they actually care. It would also mean they want to waste money on something which really doesn't impact your work. If you are smart enough and motivated enough to get a banking job who cares if you light up on your own time. I am sure alcohol and coke are bigger issues.

Bottom line, is it worth the risk? I have done a lot of different drugs and none of them are worth losing a job over. Knock your shit off for a month and be a professional.
