We're looking to hold a WSO meetup Wed Nov 28th at ~7PM. Our DC Social Chair tuxcsean90 suggested a spot in the Dupont area but we're open to other suggestions of neighborhoods (and specific bars within this neighborhood) that would be better

What tuxcsean90 said:

I know of the bar that my firm goes out for cocktails to (economic consulting), but I'm not sure if its near other financial firms. I know some of the BBs are a few blocks away. It would probably help if we create a thread on locations. The bar is in DuPont with a nice rooftop

Additional criteria:
Not too crowded on a Wed
Have a good meeting area / table / bar area that can accommodate 5-10 people
+ if they have a happy hour going on, good drinks, good service
+ if it is an all-ages place so some college students can attend as well

I had done something a few years ago that I posted on WSO, we did The Mad Hatter, it's not too loud and happy hour has half price apps and is easy to get to on the metro.

18 St Lounge and Mad Hatters are good spots. I would also suggest Circa in Foggy Bottom. Shouldn't be too crowded on a Wednesday and it has an outdoor area that's heated if there's overflow. Also directly across the street from Foggy Bottom metro station.

It hasn't been mentioned yet but has anyone been to Front Page? It has some of the best Wednesday specials. Never been to 18th street lounge before but it's been recommended by coworkers.

Big Hunt has good brews. I haven't been in town on a Monday - Wednesday in a long time though, so not sure about anyone's weekly specials in Dupont.

Whoa, a DC event? I could possibly be down for this.

I would suggest Bar Dupont, Front Page, or Circa (all in the Dupont Circle) area. 18th st lounge will be loud and dark and somewhat full even on a Wednesday.

18th Street will be packed no matter the fucking day. Circa is decent, but the layout is a little awkward. My vote would be for Ozio Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge. On a Wednesday, it should be relatively empty.

I second this.
