I did not get the call from Lloyd this morning, did you?

Fewest partners as a public company and fewest since 1998. Making $900k a year base plus special bonus incentives only for the special partners. Lloyd must of forgot to call me :/

My long lost cousin's wife made partner - holy crap. I wish I had a better relationship with them now :D

Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis - when I was dead broke man I couldn't picture this

Do you masturbate furiously to this? What's the point of this list?

+1 to the point.

Do you have a drinking problem? Maybe a little early for drinks? I'm hoping you're in London.
so scandalous! He must have a drinking problem if he has a beer outside the specific hours that I deem appropriate!

I think the story goes that there were a couple hundred partners at GS when they went public, who made an average of $200m each off their equity (this could be totally wrong, but the number stuck in my head - someone please correct me if I fucked that up). $900k? C'mon, that's nothing!

Definitely not right. All in comp today for each partner is ~$1.6MM

This must've been what I was thinking of. Maybe not $200m, but $165m in a couple of cases:

"When Goldman went public in May 1999, a group of 221 executives controlled the firm ... They reaped a windfall at the initial public offering, based on a previously unreported partnership document. John Thain, chief executive of the lender CIT Group, and John Thornton, a professor at Tsinghua University in China, each held approximately than 1 percent of the firm prior to the market debut. Each of those stakes were worth roughly $165 million at the public offering, according to former partners."

Note that there are plenty of guys on the list whose stock, if you do the math, would be worth ~$100m or more at the time: http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2011/05/16/the-goldman-sachs-diaspora/

Grindhouse:
Man, some of these guys are young...Vivek Bantwal, 35? Damn

Assuming you started straight from ugrad, 35 is about right assuming you we're a solid performer (3 years analyst, associate, vp, md = 34). Still impressive.

But what's more impressive is the guy on that list who graduated from school in '03....

Battleship:
if somebody knows in which area which guy worked, could we get something like percentages per division?

here you go mate, its pretty diverse:

Clark Kent - Superman

David Schwimmer - Actor

Roy Joseph - Politician

Simon Watson - Ice Hockey player

Hugh Lawson - Judge

Sean Rice - Pair Skater

Luca Lombardi - Disc Jockey

Ha. To answer though, I've heard securities had the biggest representation.

This link has details on MOST of them and their divisions/history:

Alex Chi started out in Back Office IT. What now back office haters

Did you see his history? MIT grad, into three different groups early in his career. It's likely that "IT" means programming algorithms and/or designing computer systems around risk assessment or trading.

I have a feeling he wasn't the guy to call when your monitor broke.
