“Nick and I had a lengthy chat about my LinkedIn profile and how that ultimately ties back to what is on my resume. He recommended getting my resume to a higher standard, fixing the interest section (replacing it with more fascinating experiences and for me that looks like cooking culinary cuisines since my father is a professional chef, wildlife exploration (The Great Migration), and Poetry in Haiku renga (which I also picked up in undergrad, and much more fascinating details that I didn't even think of myself. As for the resume he mentioned aligning the bullets and letters perfectly because "it's the small things that matter the most." We then had a deeper conversation about my story and how to pitch that within the first few minutes of an interview. Nick suggested the best tactic for second round interviews is to shorten what he refers to as "the fog of war" and then close with specific questions that not only show the interviewer that I am the perfect fit for the role, but that they have been looking for someone like me all along. Coming from Case Western, I wasn't a finance major, but WSO Academy was a game-changer. I went from sending 50 emails a month to 1,200 in two months using their automation tools. The mentors helped me totally nail interviews, even for restructuring, leading to my Morgan Stanley IB offer. Definitely worth it!

I got Spring Weeks at Goldman and PJT, then a middle market PE internship in NYC. Recruiting from Singapore was tough, but WSO mentors, especially Cindy, helped me figure out what I really wanted and how to prep for interviews that used to scare me.

Starting early was key. I began networking freshman year even when it felt awkward. My Aggie network was huge and mock interviews made me sharp. Lazard really cared about my behaviorals and who I was. Have a life outside studying... they want the whole you.

When recruiting started, I didn’t feel as prepared as a lot of people around me, and my first networking call went really badly. I realized I needed a plan and real practice. I joined WSO Academy, used the courses to get my basics down, and then did a ton of mock interviews to fix my pacing, answers, and confidence. That structure made a huge difference by the time interviews came around, I felt prepared and ended up landing Goldman Sachs (TMT).

As an international student and former varsity soccer player, I started with a blank slate—no accounting class, no playbook. WSO’s structure and mentor network turned chaos into a plan. Repetitions on storytelling and case prep built the muscle I needed to push through rejections and ultimately earn my BCG offer.

I came in late, my resume was a mess, and I wasn’t sure I was ready. WSO Academy got me on track fast. They cleaned up my resume, drilled me on technicals, and helped me break into IB with a boutique, then land Wells Fargo. Super helpful mentors who really knew their stuff.

I already had an offer, but I didn't want to be stuck in oil & gas. Plus, breaking into NYC from Rice was tough :) WSO Academy really helped me refine my 'why' for New York and ace my behavioral interviews. Their courses also prepped me for my Excel Olympics win! I landed Jefferies Power full-time in NYC.

Breaking into finance as a liberal arts international student at Kenyon felt impossible. My resume was a mess, and I was totally lost. But WSO Academy swooped in... I ramped up networking like crazy (150+ calls!) and their mentors helped me nail my mocks. That preparation led to 3 superdays and my Morgan Stanley offer.

I was doing the work, but my interviews were still all over the place—my stories were rambly and I didn’t know what ‘good’ sounded like. I joined WSO late, with only a couple of coffee chats done and not much finance experience. I went from feeling behind to getting around 10 calls a week, and the Renewable Energy course was a game changer for my project finance interviews. By the end of February, I landed my offer.

As a Colby freshman, I had no direction despite wanting finance. WSO Academy gave me a detailed plan and framework. I was doing three to five calls daily and even visited NYC banks in person, which was a huge differentiator. They helped me land a private equity internship and Bank of America IBD.

I came into recruiting super late, well past the usual timelines, and I wasn’t part of any finance clubs. WSO Academy gave me a proven process and the mentorship I needed, from learning what restructuring even was to building an outreach strategy that landed me 50+ coffee chats. That preparation helped me break into Greenhill Restructuring in New York.

I started late, missed out on junior internship recruiting, and had to keep pushing through a lot of setbacks. WSO gave me the structure, feedback, and realistic prep I needed to improve fast. The mock interviews and mentor guidance were huge in helping me land a full-time offer in Energy Investment Banking at Scotiabank.

My first real interview was a wake-up call. I had one day’s notice, was completely scrambling, and walked out thinking I wasn’t ready for this process. Over winter break, I joined WSO and finally had structure, we rebuilt my story from scratch, tightened my answers so they sounded natural, and ran enough mock interviews that the technicals became second nature. Even when I had the flu during one of my Jefferies rounds, I still felt in control. I ended up getting the offer after the Superday and that confidence shift made all the difference.

I came to the U.S. at 15 and fought my way from a non-target school then got crushed in interviews and down to $800 in my account. I doubled down on prep with WSO Academy, and that’s what turned things around and got me into venture debt at Trinity Capital.

I started recruiting without really understanding how competitive the process was or how it actually worked. I went through rejection after rejection and a lot of ghosting, and it was honestly pretty disheartening. What WSO gave me was the technical knowledge I was missing and that gave me real confidence. Once I had that, interviews stopped being intimidating, and that’s when I landed my M&A Summer Analyst role at Rothschild & Co.

I knew I wanted real estate, but Academy helped me tell that story better. I talked to mentors like Teru and Nick, downloaded the modeling templates, and studied the macro stuff. It gave me a real edge in interviews. That’s how I ended up at Blackstone Real Estate full time.

I was super demotivated after club rejections. Fast forward after joining WSO, I sent 412 cold emails, getting 60 coffee chats thanks to them and my polished resume. I faced nine brutal first rounds and four superdays in one week, totally slammed! But Academy prepped me, leading to my BMO offer.

I built and exited companies, but when I decided to pivot into investment banking, I realized how much I didn’t know. I put my head down and grinded 200+ networking calls, late nights, constant reps but I needed to speak the language fluently. WSO helped me tighten my technicals, practice under pressure, and show up with confidence instead of hesitation. That edge made the difference I signed an offer to join JPMorgan’s Business Services group.

At Villanova I felt behind, competing with Ivy League kids and lacking real finance experience. WSO Academy’s mentors and bootcamps sharpened my technicals and taught me to network effectively. I went all in (sometimes skipping class for calls) and that persistence helped me land Evercore.

I was getting to final rounds at top quant shops, but just couldn’t quite land the offer. The Academy really made a difference, especially the quant mentors. Mocks with John and Jeremy were critical... they helped me with everything from brainteasers to my story. I went from rejections to an landing offer in the quant ISG group at Goldman. By the end, interviews were actually fun.

As a psychology major coming from a nontraditional background, I was struggling to position myself for private wealth management. WSO helped me tailor my resume, use referrals more strategically, and prepare for interviews. My first private wealth management application turned into an interview process, and I landed an offer at UBS in San Francisco.

Coming to Canada from India was a real academic culture shock, my grades dipped early on.
