“Alessandro helped me identify some areas where I needed to improve to bring out the best in my responses to the TMAY stories. He provided personal feedback which helped me reflect deeply on some ideas I was considering for my career moves. His responses to my TMAY where a clear reflection of what I can actually expect in a real interview set up.”

“We went through my CV in detail and pinned down the key messages I want to get across to an employer. I now have a much clearer understanding of the story my CV needs to tell: not a list of roles, but a deliberate narrative that connects my elite sport background, my commercial experience running Masterclass Cricket and my self-taught finance into one coherent case. Crucially, I now know which characteristics and skills I want to demonstrate for investment banking specifically and how to frame the two-year transition as a deliberate redirection of the same drive rather than a gap to explain away. Secondly, we discussed a concrete strategy for putting myself in a credible position to reach out and start conversations. The plan is clear, produce a piece of work that demonstrates real technical capability and develop the ability to talk about it fluently and confidently. That combination of a tangible output plus the articulation to defend it is what will make my outreach land rather than get ignored. I've come away with real clarity on the tasks ahead and a proper roadmap to work through. I'm grateful for your time, your honesty and the practical direction, it's exactly what I needed at this stage.”

“Mentor was firstly late for the call for almost 50 mins with no upfront hands up, no immediately email reply either when i ask if he was able to join. We end up joining the call 50 mins after the initial scheduled time. He didn't have camera on the whole 1 hour session and apparently didn't prepare anything for our call. We are supposed to go through the 7 stories and I have written my stories and shared the link 2 weeks in advance at the time of booking, but in the call he has no access and not even know that such a file exist. I basically just read through my script the whole 1 hour and he said good for each of them. I don't think I have gain much useful information for this 1-hour session and hoping mentor would really be more prepared to make our session usefull.”

“Pablo always puts great effort into the career advice he gives me. We have built a strong mentor-mentee relationship, and he is highly proactive in reaching out to see how I am progressing with my recruiting processes and preparation. This time, we focused on networking strategy and the companies I should be prioritizing. I always leave our sessions with several concrete action points to work on, and I feel comfortable bringing up any concerns or topics I would like to discuss. His advice has also proven to be effective, as I can clearly see the impact through the improvements in my interview performance.”

“The sessions with Blake have been very effective. He always has a great attitude and is very helpful whenever I have doubts or questions about the technicals. He explains concepts clearly and does a great job simplifying difficult topics, which makes them much easier for me to understand and remember. I also saw a clear improvement in my technical interview performance from last week to this one. The range of questions he asked was varied, challenging, and felt very similar to a real interview, which made the session especially useful for identifying areas I still need to improve.”

“My conversation with Abbas was exactly what I needed. He was the right person to speak with given where I am in the process, and the questions he asked were relevant and well targeted throughout. The technical portion was particularly valuable. He went deep enough to surface the areas where I am weakest and was direct about them, then gave me a clear framework for approaching those topics in an interview rather than simply flagging the gaps. He also stayed on past the scheduled time to help me think through how to frame my behavioral answers. I came away with a much sharper sense of what to work on and how to present it.”

“Daniel was a great mentor who was able to provide valuable feedback on our mock coffee chat and explain how to improve upon my weaknesses. It was actually my very first mentor session and I was able to learn a lot. When I asked about how the sessions normally worked he gave a super in depth explanation and also explained how the mock was supposed to go. We then went through the mock and it was very realistic with the questions asked and also sharing of himself. It was also super easy to schedule the lesson and overall would work again with him.”

“Booked a 30-minute session and ended up waiting to start, with the call running closer to 50 minutes. I understand sessions can run long organically, but the ratio of time spent to ground covered felt off compared to other calls I've had. Would recommend being clearer on scope and pacing upfront, and setting expectations if a session is likely to run over the booked time, especially since it draws down paid credits either way.”

“The LinkedIn review with Julian Gropp went very well. Considering this was my first LinkedIn review, I didn't know what my LinkedIn looked like to an outside professional. Julian Gropp was very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable, and provided me with guidance during my call. He went through my entire LinkedIn profile, went through all my sections, and provided detailed feedback. He also stated in detail why I should make these changes. Today's session with Julian was very helpful, and I would definitely like to work with him in the future. ”

“Taro helped me develop a much stronger understanding of each of my resume line items. I did my best to incorporate the M&A projects I’ve worked on, and he helped me narrow down the most relevant details and determine what should ultimately be included. He is very knowledgeable about the recruiting process and was attentive in answering all of my questions. One challenge I’ve had throughout the process is quantifying the work I’ve done in each experience, but Taro provided helpful guidance and reassured me that the overall resume was coming together effectively. The only area where I would have appreciated additional guidance is understanding whether investment bankers look for specific keywords or terminology when reviewing resumes.”

“Tim was excellent. He came in with a clear read on where I am in my recruiting and shaped the whole conversation around it rather than giving generic advice. His most useful correction was on how I’m targeting roles: I’d been narrowly focused on M&A, and he pushed back on that. His point was that without an existing background in banking, boxing myself into one product group is a disservice to me, I should be casting a wider net to get my foot in the door first. He still walked me through the landscape properly (M&A as the core product group, LevFin/non-IG as genuinely interesting, ECM/DCM as the ones to be more wary of), but the framing was about breadth rather than a single target. He was also honest that Summer 2027 is realistically a no-go for my profile, and redirected me to off-cycle internships instead, which was far more useful. The networking advice was the most actionable part: focus outreach on Associates and VPs since they’re most involved in the actual recruiting process, circle back to people I’ve already connected with on LinkedIn rather than only chasing new names, and reach out to affinity groups regardless of fit, plus leaning on my Warwick alumni and Indian networks specifically. He also explained how quickly an MD can turn a conversation into an interview, and gave practical details down to wearing a button-down on calls. He pointed me to concrete resources too, the Bristol tracker, the WSO Academy dashboard tracker, and Chris Riggs for the Equity Research Internship. Only thing I’d have liked more of: a rough sequencing or timeline for the off-cycle applications, since that’s the part I’m least sure how to pace.”

“The mentor advised polishing PEI stories in STAR; clarifying targets/metrics, product mix and manufacturing/origin; using profit = rev–cost and rev = price × volume; and a tailored price/volume, variable/fixed-cost, market/competitor framework. I should narrate and reconcile the math; close the $13M gap via store consolidation, staff/manager cuts, peak scheduling, rent optimisation, margin/online growth and payback-tested automation; test cuts for service/revenue effects; use RRRN; practice timed/noisy mocks with casebook/McKinsey YouTube for fast data handling/clear communication; and book a follow-up.”

“Quang did well creating a supportive, realistic mock-interview environment and covering a balanced mix of behavioral, fit, market, and technical questions. His feedback was specific and actionable—especially on adding metrics, tailoring the “Why JLL” answer with names from conversations, strengthening valuation methods, and framing transferable experience for a client-facing capital-markets role. He could have improved by pushing back more directly on a few technical answers, particularly the interest-rate/cap-rate relationship, and by offering a clearer model answer or tighter framework after each question so the key corrections were easier to retain.”

Hear how our alumni used the program to get amazing outcomes
Coming from Case Western, I wasn't a finance major, but WSO Academy was a game-changer. I went from sending 50 emails a month to 1,200 in two months using their automation tools. The mentors helped me totally nail interviews, even for restructuring, leading to my Morgan Stanley IB offer. Definitely worth it!
I got Spring Weeks at Goldman and PJT, then a middle market PE internship in NYC. Recruiting from Singapore was tough, but WSO mentors, especially Cindy, helped me figure out what I really wanted and how to prep for interviews that used to scare me.
Starting early was key. I began networking freshman year even when it felt awkward. My Aggie network was huge and mock interviews made me sharp. Lazard really cared about my behaviorals and who I was. Have a life outside studying... they want the whole you.
As an international student and former varsity soccer player, I started with a blank slate—no accounting class, no playbook. WSO’s structure and mentor network turned chaos into a plan. Repetitions on storytelling and case prep built the muscle I needed to push through rejections and ultimately earn my BCG offer.
I came in late, my resume was a mess, and I wasn’t sure I was ready. WSO Academy got me on track fast. They cleaned up my resume, drilled me on technicals, and helped me break into IB with a boutique, then land Wells Fargo. Super helpful mentors who really knew their stuff.
Breaking into finance as a liberal arts international student at Kenyon felt impossible. My resume was a mess, and I was totally lost. But WSO Academy swooped in... I ramped up networking like crazy (150+ calls!) and their mentors helped me nail my mocks. That preparation led to 3 superdays and my Morgan Stanley offer.
I was doing the work, but my interviews were still all over the place—my stories were rambly and I didn’t know what ‘good’ sounded like. The Academy mentors helped me tighten my story, sharpen my behaviorals, and drill live mocks so I could walk into interviews with a clear structure and confident delivery. Once I cleaned that up, everything clicked—and I landed my GS offer.
I joined WSO late, with only a couple of coffee chats done and not much finance experience. Getting my resume in shape, doing mocks early, and using the networking tools helped me get up to speed fast. I went from feeling behind to getting around 10 calls a week, and the Renewable Energy course was a game changer for my project finance interviews. By the end of February, I landed my offer.
As a Colby freshman, I had no direction despite wanting finance. WSO Academy gave me a detailed plan and framework. I was doing three to five calls daily and even visited NYC banks in person, which was a huge differentiator. They helped me land a private equity internship and Bank of America IBD.

I came into recruiting super late, well past the usual timelines, and I wasn’t part of any finance clubs. WSO Academy gave me a proven process and the mentorship I needed, from learning what restructuring even was to building an outreach strategy that landed me 50+ coffee chats. That preparation helped me break into Greenhill Restructuring in New York.
I started late, missed out on junior internship recruiting, and had to keep pushing through a lot of setbacks. WSO gave me the structure, feedback, and realistic prep I needed to improve fast. The mock interviews and mentor guidance were huge in helping me land a full-time offer in Energy Investment Banking at Scotiabank.
My first real interview was a wake-up call. I had one day’s notice, was completely scrambling, and walked out thinking I wasn’t ready for this process. Over winter break, I joined WSO and finally had structure, we rebuilt my story from scratch, tightened my answers so they sounded natural, and ran enough mock interviews that the technicals became second nature. Even when I had the flu during one of my Jefferies rounds, I still felt in control. I ended up getting the offer after the Superday and that confidence shift made all the difference.
I came to the U.S. at 15 and fought my way from a non-target school then got crushed in interviews and down to $800 in my account. I doubled down on prep with WSO Academy, and that’s what turned things around and got me into venture debt at Trinity Capital.
I started recruiting without really understanding how competitive the process was or how it actually worked. I went through rejection after rejection and a lot of ghosting, and it was honestly pretty disheartening. What WSO gave me was the technical knowledge I was missing and that gave me real confidence. Once I had that, interviews stopped being intimidating, and that’s when I landed my M&A Summer Analyst role at Rothschild & Co.
I knew I wanted real estate, but Academy helped me tell that story better. I talked to mentors like Teru and Nick, downloaded the modeling templates, and studied the macro stuff. It gave me a real edge in interviews. That’s how I ended up at Blackstone Real Estate full time.
