“We had a session in German because I wasn't sure whether my German was strong enough for IB, and I was happy to hear that it is. I also received positive feedback on my cv/linkedin with some useful tips for improving it. One suggestion for the WSO Academy would be to assign each student 2–3 mentors throughout the program (based on location, industry preferences, etc.). While I found all my mentor sessions valuable, working with too many different mentors became a bit overwhelming, as I had to explain my background each time. I think it would be more effective to build longer-term relationships with a small group of mentors. Going forward, I'll mainly work with Marcel and Iason, as both have experience in the German market. I have a TMAY/CV strategy call with Iason this week, followed by one final review with Marcel. Also some guides on how many mentoring time should be dedicated to CV/Linkedin/Other profile polishing stuff would be helpfull to get at the beginning of the program as well. I am a bit afraid that I am spending too much time on this polishing, however I also do know that it was the thing with which I was struggling the most so I am still not sure if I am focusing too much or too little on it now. ”

“Was unavailable for my planned/scheduled time due to last minute commitment. Adjusted and delivered advice through email instead as my deadline was coming up as well. Good communication, fast replies, and helpful advice. Advice given was specific and helpful and he offered more comments if needed after initial review comments. Seems knowledgable but I wasn't really able to ask questions as easily as it wasn't a live session but appreciated nonetheless. Scheduling was very easy to do but unfortunate that he had a last minute commitment. ”

“Although we had technical issues during the session We worked through and went a few minutes overtime to compensate for the time lost due to technical difficulties. Sam was open with what we wanted to prioritise with getting straight into the linked in review or to start with introductions of the main goals and takeaways. Sam was knoweldgeable about the Australian universities and what recruiters look for within IB with making sure that the all of the skills are prioritised to show initiative within IB but also the soft skills of leadership. The about section was reordered to ensure that the mission critical bullet points were listed first. ”

“Andre was extremely helpful during Mock Interview 1. He gave me clear and practical feedback on both behavioral and technical questions, helping me understand how to structure stronger answers. He also supported me with planning and prioritizing the next steps, which made the preparation process much more focused and effective. His guidance was very valuable because he helped me identify my main weaknesses, improve my communication, and understand how to approach the next stages of preparation with more confidence.”

“Went very well. First got assigned to him and I immediately reached out to him with my resume within the WSO template and my old resume. Told him there were things I wanted to include from my old resume into the new WSO template one. He figured out where we could fit it in and we were able to. Made comments on a lot of the parts of the resume. Agreed with a lot of them and we tweaked them. Then he gave me an exercise to do, on how you should think about the things you add to your resume. Action and then result and for it to be quantifiable. Additionally, gave some other important tips like never apply to an internship from work, better to do it at home because they can see your IP address. Overall great experience!”

“The call was really awesome! Since the mentor was in the past in the exact roles which I am targeting there was a bunch of relevant information shared. He first really helped me out regarding my CV and really brought up the relevant changes that would help the CV stood out even more and then also helped me with the general career advice. Sadly we didnt had much time for that on this call so we agreed to meet again next week to just show him my new CV quikcly and then talk about the strategy and what he did exactly step by step to land that role. ”

“This was my second conversation with Yuvraj and I found this to be as helpful as the first if not more. We were able to tackle a quick review of my LinkedIn profile and were then able to transition into some more specific topic related to his work at McKinsey - day/week in the life, the structure of employee performance and reviews, how workstreams on engagements typically get broken out, best approaches to generate a good reputation early in employment, as well as some information on support teams to help build data for an engagement. I very much enjoy working with him and will continue to seek his counsel during my time with the WSO Academy program.”

“Overall, I had a great LinkedIn review session with Iason. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and gave practical advice that I could implement right away. Instead of giving generic feedback, he walked through my profile section by section and explained why certain changes would make me a stronger candidate for investment banking and private credit recruiting. Some of the most helpful suggestions were improving my LinkedIn headline with stronger keywords, adding a more compelling About section, shortening my experience bullets while keeping the impact, reorganizing my skills, and highlighting awards like the President's Scholarship. He also shared actionable networking strategies, including how to structure LinkedIn outreach, build target lists, follow up effectively, and prioritize firms where I would have the best chance of getting responses. I left the session with a clear list of action items that I can immediately implement. The meeting was well organized, and I appreciated that he tailored his advice to my recruiting goals rather than giving one-size-fits-all recommendations. Overall, it was a valuable session, and I would definitely work with him again.”

“It was a pleasure to connect with Jean-Philippe. He was very proficient in the PE industry and also had an understanding of the culture at the particular firm, Partners Group, in which I was interested. I shared some particulars of the legal role I saw listed (e.g., advising the investment committee) and Jean-Philippe provided concrete examples, based on his experience of working with lawyers on deals, of situations I could face in that capacity. We also talked about the best way to network for legal roles in the industry and Jean-Philippe provided very specific and concrete guidance.”

“Ben was very helpful. He provided me with actionable takeaways and formatting suggestions on my resume. Ben was also very helpful in communicating with me. He would respond and acknowledge that he received my email and that he was going to work on things. This was helpful as it made me feel as if I was never in the dark. I liked his edits as he took the time to read through both my WSO formatted one-page resume and also my extended CV to ensure that I had the absolute best resume items. Ben also agreed to do another round of edits if the AI review shows that we should change anything. I would very-much work with Ben again. ”

“Andy was very open with me and made sure I understood everything I needed to about my LinkedIn. He mentioned some things I should take a look at (headline skills, internship skills, relevant coursework) in order to improve my LinkedIn as much as possible. He was also willing to review my resume and provide additional help which was amazing as it also clarified a few questions I had. Lastly, he was easy to talk to and the communication was smooth as he knew what to say and how to portray the message across.”

“Quang was an excellent mentor for my mock interview session, and I'd highly recommend him to anyone preparing for interviews. He created a realistic interview environment right from the start, which helped me get a genuine feel for the pressure and pacing of a real interview rather than a watered-down practice run. His questions were sharp and relevant, clearly pulled from real interview experience rather than generic prep material. What I appreciated most was the quality of his feedback afterward. He didn't just tell me what went wrong — he explained exactly why certain answers landed better than others and gave me specific, actionable ways to restructure my responses. He was direct and honest without ever being discouraging, which struck a great balance and made the tough feedback easy to actually use. Quang was also just easy and pleasant to work with — responsive, on time, and clearly invested in helping me improve rather than just going through the motions. Scheduling with him was seamless. Overall this was a genuinely high-value session and I'd jump at the chance to do another mock interview with him. “This mentor was genuinely fantastic to work with, and I'd recommend him without hesitation. From our very first session, he made an effort to understand exactly where I was starting from and what I actually needed, rather than giving generic advice. His communication was clear, patient, and never made me feel rushed or judged for asking basic questions. What stood out most was how actionable everything was — I never left a session unsure of what to do next. He broke down complex topics into concrete steps I could actually follow, and followed up to see how things went. His depth of knowledge was obvious, but he never made me feel talked down to; he explained things in a way that respected my time and intelligence. Beyond the technical guidance, he was just a genuinely kind and encouraging person to talk to. He was flexible and easy to schedule with, always accommodating when I needed to shift a session around. Overall, this was one of the most valuable mentorship experiences I've had, and I'd jump at the chance to work with him again. If you want, tell me his name or what he mentored you on and I'll tailor a couple of details in so it reads less generic.”

“Shahzeb is very knowledgeable on the investment banking industry and provided valuable guidance for actionable steps I could take to improve my profile. Specifically, we went into reviewing my resume, looking at which internships were best to apply for, and generating a general plan for the next few weeks to provide me with the best opportunity of landing an internship. “I did a mock interview with Jonathan. We did TMAY/Whys and behavioral questions and technical questions. He did a great job hitting breadth and drilling down, and it was great to do a mock with someone who has done lots of interviews for the seat that I'm interviewing for. Jonathan keeps an organized calendar, so it's been really easy to look at his calendar and book something, even on short notice. We went through the interview and he took notes throughout, and then we went through feedback at the end, which was helpful and I took away several notes/areas for me to work on as I continue to prepare for further rounds.”

Coming from Case Western, I wasn't a finance major, but WSO Academy was a game-changer. I went from sending 50 emails a month to 1,200 in two months using their automation tools. The mentors helped me totally nail interviews, even for restructuring, leading to my Morgan Stanley IB offer. Definitely worth it!
I got Spring Weeks at Goldman and PJT, then a middle market PE internship in NYC. Recruiting from Singapore was tough, but WSO mentors, especially Cindy, helped me figure out what I really wanted and how to prep for interviews that used to scare me.
Starting early was key. I began networking freshman year even when it felt awkward. My Aggie network was huge and mock interviews made me sharp. Lazard really cared about my behaviorals and who I was. Have a life outside studying... they want the whole you.
As an international student and former varsity soccer player, I started with a blank slate—no accounting class, no playbook. WSO’s structure and mentor network turned chaos into a plan. Repetitions on storytelling and case prep built the muscle I needed to push through rejections and ultimately earn my BCG offer.
I came in late, my resume was a mess, and I wasn’t sure I was ready. WSO Academy got me on track fast. They cleaned up my resume, drilled me on technicals, and helped me break into IB with a boutique, then land Wells Fargo. Super helpful mentors who really knew their stuff.
Breaking into finance as a liberal arts international student at Kenyon felt impossible. My resume was a mess, and I was totally lost. But WSO Academy swooped in... I ramped up networking like crazy (150+ calls!) and their mentors helped me nail my mocks. That preparation led to 3 superdays and my Morgan Stanley offer.
I was doing the work, but my interviews were still all over the place—my stories were rambly and I didn’t know what ‘good’ sounded like. The Academy mentors helped me tighten my story, sharpen my behaviorals, and drill live mocks so I could walk into interviews with a clear structure and confident delivery. Once I cleaned that up, everything clicked—and I landed my GS offer.
I joined WSO late, with only a couple of coffee chats done and not much finance experience. Getting my resume in shape, doing mocks early, and using the networking tools helped me get up to speed fast. I went from feeling behind to getting around 10 calls a week, and the Renewable Energy course was a game changer for my project finance interviews. By the end of February, I landed my offer.
As a Colby freshman, I had no direction despite wanting finance. WSO Academy gave me a detailed plan and framework. I was doing three to five calls daily and even visited NYC banks in person, which was a huge differentiator. They helped me land a private equity internship and Bank of America IBD.

I came into recruiting super late, well past the usual timelines, and I wasn’t part of any finance clubs. WSO Academy gave me a proven process and the mentorship I needed, from learning what restructuring even was to building an outreach strategy that landed me 50+ coffee chats. That preparation helped me break into Greenhill Restructuring in New York.
I started late, missed out on junior internship recruiting, and had to keep pushing through a lot of setbacks. WSO gave me the structure, feedback, and realistic prep I needed to improve fast. The mock interviews and mentor guidance were huge in helping me land a full-time offer in Energy Investment Banking at Scotiabank.
My first real interview was a wake-up call. I had one day’s notice, was completely scrambling, and walked out thinking I wasn’t ready for this process. Over winter break, I joined WSO and finally had structure, we rebuilt my story from scratch, tightened my answers so they sounded natural, and ran enough mock interviews that the technicals became second nature. Even when I had the flu during one of my Jefferies rounds, I still felt in control. I ended up getting the offer after the Superday and that confidence shift made all the difference.
I came to the U.S. at 15 and fought my way from a non-target school then got crushed in interviews and down to $800 in my account. I doubled down on prep with WSO Academy, and that’s what turned things around and got me into venture debt at Trinity Capital.
I started recruiting without really understanding how competitive the process was or how it actually worked. I went through rejection after rejection and a lot of ghosting, and it was honestly pretty disheartening. What WSO gave me was the technical knowledge I was missing and that gave me real confidence. Once I had that, interviews stopped being intimidating, and that’s when I landed my M&A Summer Analyst role at Rothschild & Co.
I knew I wanted real estate, but Academy helped me tell that story better. I talked to mentors like Teru and Nick, downloaded the modeling templates, and studied the macro stuff. It gave me a real edge in interviews. That’s how I ended up at Blackstone Real Estate full time.
I was super demotivated after club rejections. Fast forward after joining WSO, I sent 412 cold emails, getting 60 coffee chats thanks to them and my polished resume. I faced nine brutal first rounds and four superdays in one week, totally slammed! But Academy prepped me, leading to my BMO offer.
I built and exited companies, but when I decided to pivot into investment banking, I realized how much I didn’t know. I put my head down and grinded 200+ networking calls, late nights, constant reps but I needed to speak the language fluently. WSO helped me tighten my technicals, practice under pressure, and show up with confidence instead of hesitation. That edge made the difference I signed an offer to join JPMorgan’s Business Services group.
At Villanova I felt behind, competing with Ivy League kids and lacking real finance experience. WSO Academy’s mentors and bootcamps sharpened my technicals and taught me to network effectively. I went all in (sometimes skipping class for calls) and that persistence helped me land Evercore.
I was getting to final rounds at top quant shops, but just couldn’t quite land the offer. The Academy really made a difference, especially the quant mentors. Mocks with John and Jeremy were critical... they helped me with everything from brainteasers to my story. I went from rejections to an landing offer in the quant ISG group at Goldman. By the end, interviews were actually fun.
As a psychology major coming from a nontraditional background, I was struggling to position myself for private wealth management. My first private wealth management application turned into an interview process, and I landed an offer at UBS in San Francisco.
Coming to Canada from India was a real academic culture shock, my grades dipped early on. Coming from audit in South Africa, I knew breaking into M&A in London wasn’t going to be easy. Recruiters wouldn’t even take my calls. But I wasn’t ready to just settle and “go into industry”. Thanks to the WSO Academy push, I started landing 15-20 networking calls a week. One of my earliest chats led to a buy-side analyst offer at PCB Partners. Took four months, but it changed my career.
I started super late at Carnegie Mellon, and networking felt like a huge uphill battle. Bank offers weren't converting... I even got ghosted for a month! But WSO Academy changed everything. Their mentors nailed my PE mocks, helping me land my dream software private equity internship. Couldn't have done it without them!
Breaking into investment banking was already hard, but doing it as an international student needing sponsorship and aiming for New York made it even tougher. I started without a clear understanding of investment banking and had no structured recruiting plan. Through WSO’s personalized guidance and structured preparation, I was able to close a steep learning curve and recruit effectively—ultimately landing a full-time Investment Banking Analyst role in London.
I went to culinary school before Brown - not the typical finance path. I started prepping early, and probably did 50-60 informational interviews. Never begged for referrals, just connected with people over stuff like cooking or school. WSO helped tighten up my resume and mock interviews, and that made a difference. Got offers at places like Morgan Stanley and a bunch of others.
I started as a total blank slate at UC Irvine, but WSO Academy transformed everything. I sent 3,000+ cold emails, did 220+ calls, and 10-12 mocks. That led to 18 first-round interviews and 8 superdays... eventually landing at MUFG!

I was coming from a less traditional path in commercial construction, trying to pivot into management consulting, but my applications and networking were not producing the results I needed. The mentorship, mock interviews, and live training helped me sharpen my story, communicate my transferable skills more clearly, and prepare for the interviews that ultimately led to my offer at Guidehouse.
I was stuck in back-office risk. Getting into finance late at McMaster felt like a battle, and my networking for top roles was just not cutting it. The mentors helped me nail my story and authentically brand myself for private equity and helped me land at CPPIB!
Came to Princeton as a student athlete recruited for softball. Didn’t think about careers until midway through sophomore year. Joined the Academy in January super late. Had barely ten calls done, within weeks I was doing 20 a week. The prep really helped, and I eventually landed an offer at UBS.
Before WSO I barely knew what IB was. I cold-called FP&A folks just to get reps. Once I joined, I had real feedback from mentors and a clear roadmap. Did a year at a boutique, made ~200 calls, and finally broke into a bulge bracket in New York.
I knew I couldn’t do it alone—my English and deal exposure weren’t there yet. With WSO’s guidance, I built confidence fast and landed at Corebridge on the investments team.
I was really flying blind… left a role that wasn’t for me, went all-in on WSO Academy, and ended up with an Associate offer at Harris Williams. I couldn’t have done it without WSO. Life changing. Worth every penny.

As an engineering major, I was doing back-office tech, and didn't know how to break into front office M&A. WSO Academy totally changed my view! Their bootcamps and IB interview prep were awesome for technicals. Plus, their mentors helped me craft an incredible story, making me competitive against finance majors.
Joining WSO Academy right before sophomore year was pivotal, even though I was nervous. Those hundreds of emails and countless mock interviews really sharpened me. It felt risky letting an early offer go, but trusting that intensive prep ultimately led me to a bulge bracket. It was quite a journey.

They fixed my resume, crushed the mocks, and landed 3 first rounds. Ended up getting Blair. Wouldn’t have happened without WSO.

My GPA from UofT engineering wasn’t great, and I knew my technicals were weak. WSO Academy changed my approach. Alex helped me clean up my resume, the courses and mocks seriously leveled me up, and I just kept networking. After a long wait… got the offer from Scotia Capital!

I pivoted from engineering at UCL super late like three months before graduation. I had zero finance prep, was totally scrambling, and honestly felt lost. Lost my offer a month after graduation and had no idea how to restart. WSO Academy gave me a plan. The bootcamps, equity research program, and mock interviews built my confidence fast. After speaking with nearly 100 people, I landed a financial analyst role at a Fortune 500. Would’ve been totally stuck without that support.
WSO Academy's mentorship and bootcamps helped me build my first DCF, teaching me on-the-job skills. Now, I'm teaching others... networking is key, but so is sharing knowledge with your peers. I turned down eight offers to take a risky Real Estate Investment Internship in Saudi that I was able to convert into a full time Investment Analyst role.

Ended up landing the offer after five mocks.

Without WSO, I would’ve fumbled.

Recruiting for banking was already intense, but I was doing it while taking four classes, working 20 hours a week, and playing NCAA hockey.
