About the mentor

An experienced private equity and venture capital investor. As an investor, she is skilled in financial analysis, mergers & acquisitions, growth capital & minority recap fundraising, debt financing, and equity research & diligence. Prior to the buy-side, she was an investment banker and is well-versed in M&A advisory and managing sale processes.

She is currently an experienced Vice President at Winona Capital, where she provides acquisition and growth capital to outstanding emerging brands. Winona Capital partners with high-energy executives who share its focus on longer-term, sustained growth. The firm seeks both control and minority investments in consumer-driven brands characterized by high-margin products with strong growth prospects. At Winona, she focuses on consumer brands with revenues of $5-100 million and EBITDA above $1 million and seeks to commit $10-50 million in equity capital per deal. During her six years at Winona Capital, she has been an integral advisor to a variety of portfolio company Boards (Diono, Incredible Foods, Monica Vinader, Johnny’s Fine Foods, to name a few), as well as served on board Audit Committees.

In addition to her duties at Winona Capital, she serves on the Board of JOHNLEONARD Employment Services, where she focuses on the company’s finance and corporate development initiatives. Connecting talent with opportunity. JOHNLEONARD is an employment agency providing Direct Hire, Temporary/Contract, Temp-to-Hire, Payroll, and other staffing solutions as part of its comprehensive suite of service offerings. JOHNLEONARD brings people and organizations together, building relationships, to create better futures.

Her additional Board responsibilities include the Good Food Accelerator Associate Board. Now in its sixth year, the Good Food Accelerator (GFA) is a non-profit fellowship program that readies emerging Good Food CPG (consumer packaged goods) brands for prime time, giving them the skills to scale up. Emerging brands invited into the program rely on the Associate Board to provide fundraising and entrepreneur development capabilities.

Prior to joining Winona Capital in 2014, she was an Associate at Kinsale Capital Partners where she provided advisory and financing services to middle market companies. She was also an Associate at Hyde Park Angels, one of the Midwest’s largest angel organizations, where she was responsible for sourcing and evaluating seed and early-stage investments. Before graduate school, she was an Analyst at Harris Williams & Co., a middle market investment bank specializing in M&A advisory services across a variety of industries.

She graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with a B.S. in Finance and Management and a concentration in Psychology. She earned her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business where she focused on finance and entrepreneurship. She believes in keeping the Tulane University community strong even outside of New Orleans, and therefore serves on the volunteer Board for Tulane Alumni of Chicago.

While her credentials mainly speak to finance, audit, and fundraising, she is also passionate about employee and customer engagement, aligning incentives, diversity leadership, and frictionless consumer experiences.
