Anybody here familiar with Apollo's FIG PE group? Current MBA at a top program looking at summer seats. The FIG team is described like it invests across flagship PE, hybrid value, yield origination platforms, and insurance, plus internal M&A. Crazy breadth of assets, I know (that's a plus in my book). I'm hoping someone can help me pin down how you're spending your time on that team. Bonus points for any additional details on team structure, internal career trajectory, culture, etc. Thank you!

Just starting out here and I'm thinking about recruiting for credit funds next year. What are some of the leading firms, and why do people think they're great? I've heard these names a lot but don't know much about them... was originally sold on private equity and so don't know much about what makes each credit fund special. What do they tell LPs about their "secret sauce" and how true is it? * Anchorage Capital Group * Apollo Global Management * Bain Capital Credit * Canyon Partners * CQS * Davidson Kempner * D. E. Shaw * Elliott Management * GSO / Blackstone * HPS Investment Partners * King

I'm lucky enough to have Full-Time Analyst offers for Investment Banking from both Evercore NYC M&A and PJT NYC M&A. I know I'm splitting hairs here but I'm just wondering if any of you have thoughts if one firm is slightly better positioned in terms of exit opportunities into PE mega-funds (Apollo, Blackstone, Warburg, KKR, TPG, Bain, Carlyle) as well as top MBA programs (Harvard, Stanford, Wharton)? Appreciate any insight!

Was wondering if anyone had any information on the full time recruiting process at MF's (BX, KKR, Apollo, TPG, Warburg, etc.) for undergrad students. I'll be at a top EB for my SA stint and, though I will most likely stay for FT, I figured I might as well at least try for a few MF's now since it might give me a leg up come associate recruiting. Any advice on how the recruiting process is structured and on how to do well in any coffee chats/interviews is appreciated. Thanks.

Is it true that famous private equity firms like KKR, Black Stone, Apollo, and others recruits at undergrad level? If so then what kind of College do they recruit? Private Equity out of undergrad Private equity firms do hire undergraduates. However, there are usually only a handful of undergraduates from top schools that recruit directly into PE firms. Usually with previous experience in investment banking or private equity. Boutique firms with minimal recruiting structure can accept undergraduates too. Usually, these positions are given out based on relationships. Some private equity firms

Came across this article and thought it was an interesting read.
Here is the full article. Thoughts? Anyone here close to the situation and can shed some more light on what's going on? There have been so many truly extraordinary twists and turns in the saga of Caesars Entertainment over the past eight years that it's hard to pinpoint exactly when the whole thing went off the rails. After all, an $18.4 billion bankruptcy filing at one of the biggest gambling empires in Las Vegas tends to result in a lot of finger-pointing.

Now that Evercore's M&A NYC Analyst class is getting bigger (~50 Analysts) and they are placing Analysts into groups earlier - I was wondering what the top groups at Evercore are considered to be? I'm interested from a deal flow perspective, prestige perspective, and best exit opportunities into PE mega-funds (Blackstone, Apollo, KKR, Warburg, Carlyle, Bain, TPG). Specifically for NYC and specifically for M&A.

Hi all, I'm currently doing an internship at a small PE firm till July and currently looking at these possible opportunities for the second half of the year (5-7 months) Which of the summer internships would be better for a final year student who will be graduating a semester after the internship? Or should I go back to school for my last semester? I'm particularly worried about exit options, don't want to graduate without a job. Apollo (opportunistic credit) -Small Team with senior officers -Good Learning opportunities and interactions -Great Brand name -No full time conversion (go through

Can anyone familiar with these firms comment on how the lifestyle/culture/investment style might differ at these megafunds? Seems like a bit of a black box unless you know people working there. How are you suppose to tell headhunters your preferences?

Hey guys, I know reputation of Apollo is that they pay significantly above the street. But aside from that, how are their strategies/focus different from the other big megafund shops? Do they focus on tech/distressed?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-10-07/apollo-said-to-discuss-raising… Thought that was pretty cool, especially given the difficult fundraising environment with KKR only raising $6.2bn out of their $8bn target, LPs demanding that TPG return more capital before they start fundraising again, Bain Cap raising $3bn out of $6bn, etc.

As most of us remember, Hostess, the company that makes Twinkies, went out of business a few years ago. The story of their comeback is a very interesting one: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/10/business/dealbo… Most of the old Hostess's workers lost their jobs, while Dean Metropoulos and Apollo Global Management scavenged through the remains, picking up Twinkies and a few other brands along with the related factories. I actually worked with Hostess in a past life (it sometimes feels like a different life, anyway), and it was definitely

With Apollo recently selling valuable assets from a Caesar's subsidiary and stripping credit enhancements from some bonds and loans, a star-studded group of debt holders (including appaloosa, oaktree, and more) are preparing for war and, potentially, bankruptcy court. WSJ reports that Caesar's total debt now exceeds 18x EBITDA. What's going to happen in this shitshow? Any distressed PE investors care to weigh in?

Does anyone know if Apollo invest in distressed debt/distressed for control situations out of their credit fund or PE fund? I think they have like $60+bn in credit. I know they've invested in portfolio company debt like Lyondell and Realogy, and that's partly how their last PE funds have recovered so well. So I'm assuming those were from the PE funds? What about other investments in like EFH/TCEH senior secured debt? Also, in general, are most PE firms mandated to make distressed for control investments if the opportunity arises?

Hey guys- I'm currently choosing between these three junior summer internship offers: Morgan Stanley leveraged finance internship, Perella Weinberg advisory internship, and Apollo credit internship. I've been at MS for a couple summers now in a different division and I really like it there (I'm comfortable there, love the people/culture, etc.), but was wondering if people can speak about the leveraged finance group at MS specifically along with PWP and Apollo in general. If anyone can give me some more color on any of these companies/those specific groups I would really appreciate it. Thank

Hey, I'm a senior and have an interview coming up with Apollo Management. I know the sourcing-heavy model and what it entails, but I'm wondering what to expect in terms of interview. Should I be brushing up on hardcore modelling, or do they not care and are looking more for eat-what-you-kill fit? Also, will I be working at the same level as the people who have done their years in IB? Any advice would be much appreciated from anyone who has been there. Secondly, anyone have any idea of what I'd be looking at as total first year comp? Thanks

Simply looking for thoughts on the impact and likely hood of these changes. The non-deduction of interest expense will obviously hurt cash flow and returns. To what extent will it impact the industry? Should carried interest be subject to the same tax, even though the risk is much greater than ordinary income? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-01-1…
