I've been with Oliver Wyman FS for the past couple years. Recently I was approached by BCG, went to interview, and receive an offer. The pay is around the same. BCG has slightly more interesting work, but generally it's pretty much the same job. I've build up quite a good network and reputation in OW. Moving over to BCG would present a big uncertainty. Do you think the incremental brand value and potentially better exit ops are worth the risks?

Hey everyone, I've been through a bunch of different threads, but a lot of them are from years ago so I just wanted a fresh take. I am interviewing for the Associate role at BCG as an experienced hire. I have my first round interview coming up, and does anyone who's been through the process have advice. I know case prep is most important and I have been on that with Victor Cheng's LOMs/materials along with live case prep. But any advice in general on how to stand out? I know for experienced hires for associate off-cycle they hire only 1 or maybe 2 so chances are extremely slim. I am beyond

Hi all, As the deadlines are quickly approaching or have recently passed (for ADVANCED DEGREE CANDIDATES), I thought I'd start a roster of interview invites/schedule and/or letter of rejection. For clarity, please reply when you have an invite/rejection and please try to include the following info: Region (mid-atlantic? southeast? west? etc): Target/non-target: Firm applied: Time till notification received since resume submission or deadline: Additional info (invite or no? when are they scheduling the interviews?): To start off: Region (mid-atlantic? southeast? west? etc): southeast Target/non

I'm a senior in a top school in Asia graduating in 2016. I've grinded through school, networked like crazy and completed internships in consulting, VC and Asset Management. I have an MBB offer in Asia (think Singapore/KL/HK) and a BB Equity Structuring offer in London. I need to decide between the two by end of January, and would really appreciate any advice on the pros/cons of either. In the long haul, I would like to end up in PE/value investing - where there's a mix of operational understanding and finance. The positive for MBB is the operational experience, but most of MBB Asia's exits are

Alright guys (and gals) thanks for reading my first post --newb I know-- I'll TRY to keep it short! Background: December '16 grad (off time for recruiting I know). Non target State School, econ-based major pretty low (~2.9) cum GPA. Pretty Solid (~3.5) Major GPA. Intership at fortune 500 News Corp. subsidiary. While I was here I got bored with my work and ended up presenting a strategy to get into the digital payments space to the executive board. Very well received but ith very minor implimentation. I also cofounded a management consulting student org at my school with the help of some alumni

How do you view an MBB analyst program vs an investment analyst at an asset manager for a Pre-MBA candidate? Specifically, experience at a value investing shop managing close to $3Bn vs a vanilla MBB analyst gig. On the face of it, MBB has the edge with brand and exit ops, while the AM offers a better payout and learning. I'm trying to think along the lines of Learning, Exit Ops and feeders to MBA programs. Which is better and why?

Had my final round 11 days ago. Still haven't received a rejection email. Some other students heard back that they received an offer or were wait listed. Did the firm forget about me or is this a sign of something else?

Hello all When engaging on studies far from home office, is it possible to stay at clients city once in a while during the weekend? (every 2nd or 3rd week) So working remotely instead of being at home office during fridays Possibly get "ticket refund" or significant other flown out instead of buying tickets back home? I've heard that some firms where you have these opportunities - any input on which firms have policies like this - anyone of the MBB firms? Best regards /S

As I start to prepare my applications, I am trying to decide which office locations to list as my first choice. For personal reasons, many different cities would work for me. But am I better off applying to a large center (e.g. SF/NY) vs smaller offices (Seattle/Silicone Valley)? Also what about the Canadian offices? I have family in Toronto, so that might be a good fit too. I am more concerned with the job than the city. Are there any that are more/less competitive? I am a PhD from an ivy league so I would applying as an advanced degree holder, if that makes a difference.

I have managed to land a 1st round interview at BCG from a complete non-target by submitting the online application. It will be in-person, 2 45-min case interviews. I'm planning to study using Case in Point.. but does anyone have any specific suggestions on what to expect for BCG? I have never had or studied for a case interview before and nobody in my career services has been helpful either. Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm Business Administration undergraduate student. I'm in my first year. I did lot of research about what I want to do and yesterday night I figured out that Investment Banking is not made for me. So I want to land in one the best consulting firms. Now according to lots of people here, MBB mostly promote good interns from there own offices so I just thought why not, let's do some consulting next summer. Problem is I have no clue how to get an internship in BCG or McKinsey. which is why i'm asking you, dear experienced fellows, to guide me or at least give me some tips. My profile: Germany Good university Good GP No extracurricular No work experience (whatsoever) Smart, motivated ... Thank you very much

Anyone know anything about the FT recruiting timeline at BCG's NJ office? I'm at a target/semi-target school, and people have gotten interviews/superdays for the NY office already, but nobody that I know of has heard from the NJ office.

I recently received and accepted an offer to join BCG as a Summer Associate in one of their main offices (NYC,Boston,Chicago) from a non-target school. Previous SAs have told me that we will be asked to rank our top 5-10 industry and capability (Strategy, Large Scale Change, etc) preferences before we begin our employment and that, typically, SAs are placed in one of their top 3 choices. I'm more or less industry agnostic (excluding healthcare) and have vague interests in the following capabilities (in no particular order): Transformation & Large Scale Change, Strategy, Growth, Turnaround, and Corp Dev (M&A). I'm also open to exploring other capabilities. Given that I don't have strong preferences either way, I thought it would be prudent to look into what BCG is best at.

Which of the firms are easier to break in through referrals for full-time recruiting? Anyone have any experience? and for consulting does it matter office location to location?

Anyone heard anything from BCG? It's their first year doing a scholarship similar to McK's Emerging Scholars, but haven't heard anything (or seen any buzz in forums for that matter). Figured I'd get this conversation started...

This is a question from Case-in-point: Capacity is 12,000 pairs of flip-flops a month. Capacity equals 2 shifts a day, five days a week. Given a normal eight hour shift, what is the maximum production per shift? The case in point explanation is "12,000 pairs a month/2 shifts a day=6,000 pairs per month. 6,000 pairs/20 work days in month=300 flip-flops per shift" I initially did it my way, which was way more complex and arrived at the same answer. However, I think this solution is much simpler. I feel incredibly stupid for asking this, but for some reason I just can't wrap my head around it

Hi guys, A BCG's recruiter contacted me to apply to their practice Tech Advantage, I'd never Heard of BCG having something similar to McK BTO. Do you guys have some information on what to expect in terms of recruitment process and the practice in general?, I guess is the recruitment is the same as that for generalists?

My friend has all 3 offers for FT, and I told him I'd help him make the decision. Which one? At first, I wanted to tell him to go to Monitor but according to a friend at McKinsey, he said he would be at ATK if he didn't get MBB or OW FS. Any suggestions?

How does the OW FS interview process different from its general management and all other firms such as MBB, Booz, AT Kearney, etc.? Or is it similar where they focuses on business situation cases?
