Hi all, I didn't see a post for this so I thought I'd make one. The postings for SA 2021 are up already and have gone through the Virtual Cover Letter. Was wondering if anyone was further along in the process or had any other insight.

Haven't seen anyone start this discussion. Does anyone know about this? What's the thread? I applied a while ago but haven't even heard about first rounds yet. Has anyone heard back?

Has anyone applied to BlackRock to be a full-time analyst and received a request to submit a virtual cover letter? I'm not sure what to expect so if anyone has completed it and could tell me what questions were on it that would be great! I'm not sure whether to expect to submit one long story about my background or have to answer specific questions. BlackRock Virtual Cover Letter Hireview BlackRock Video Interview Questions They ask the same basic, behavioral questions for each video interview. Only two questions are asked, with 30 seconds to prepare and 1 minute 30 sec to answer the question

Just had my superday a couple days ago (11/20) for the Financial Markets Advisory (FMA) Group at BlackRock and wanted to know people's experience about hearing back. They said 1-2 weeks but i don't know if they get back to you sooner. Any thoughts?

Hey - looks like I'll be joining BR full-time in an investments team. While I'm super thankful to have a full time offer in this environment, my heart is really set on ending up in a HF/PE down the line, so I've already thought about recruiting for IB. Was wondering if anyone had any advice on how possible it would be to lateral from BR to a top-tier IB shop in a year or two or, if I stayed at BR for 4-5 years, are exits to PE/HF possible? Genuinely curious to hear from the more experienced ppl. thx!

I was supposed to have a final round interview today for the sales and relationship management role at BlackRock but I never received aa zoom link or confirmation. I have emailed the recruiter twice to no avail and the web portal just gives me the interview time. Is anyone else experiencing this or am I just dumb?

Hello! I have an offer from a mid-sized PE firm in LA ( think $8B AUM) and an offer from BlackRock for Aladdin Client Services in NYC? Trying to decide which one to take - BR pays double to the PE firm for summer but I think full-time salaries are around the same. Two factors I am considering are - location and exits post the internship. Please advise:)

Greatly appreciate your opinion. Little bit about me, non-target school with 1.25 yr working experience at a BB in quantitative analytics role. BR pay slightly less than NM. But its not a concern for me. I like both opportunities and I know they drive me towards completely different directions. The struggle is like this: Blackrock > Nomura S&T > PAG Any input from you guys?

To anyone who's accepted an 2020 SA position with BlackRock: I've created a FB group where we can all chat, ask questions and get to know each other. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/286695325654039/ If you know anybody else who has accepted an SA position at BlackRock, please tell them about the group too! EDIT: Facebook requires you to answer all questions and accept the group rules so please do answer them (the more detailed your answers, the better) if you want to be accepted!

Hey guys, I am an undergrad from the UK and have Spring internship offers from BlackRock and UBS. I was stunned to get UBS, and am delighted to get BR now too. However, they both overlap and I don't know which one to pick. For BlackRock, I would be in Financial Markets Advisory and for UBS, it would be in IB/S&T/Markets. The thing is I can't decide between the two firms and the divisions. Both seem really interesting. How is FMA BlackRock? How is UBS?

Are they middle/back office positions? Do they trade and manage assets or just some admin stuff like product reports and commentaries? Thx in advance.

Starting a thread for the 2017 PAG super day in NYC. Has anyone heard back from the 11/7 11/8 superdays yet? Know that there were a couple ones in October as well, did anyone hear back with offers or rejections? HR told us the decisions should come out within a week or two.

Hey everyone. I'm in a top target undergrad and my goal is to eventually become a PM at one of the top AM firms (Blackrock, Fidelity, JPM, UBS, Wellington, etc). Would anyone who's also on this track know the general way to get to the PM level? I've heard it described as simply as Top Undergrad -> Top Firm -> M7 -> PM, is this generally true? Generally is recruitment out of undergrad harder or about on-par with IB recruitment? What is the compensation generally like for PMs starting out and midway through their career? And finally, is working as a PM generally "safer" than other high finance

I was offered a interview for this new grad role at blackrock, although I didn't apply to it, I was wondering if anyone knew what this role is about and has advice on how to prepare for the interview. is it like a sales role? i couldn't find much info on the position

Hi. I was wondering if any of you have had BlackRock FMA super day(either for SA/FA) & share your experiences & how long it took them to get back to you. Also, where else are you guys applying/heard back? I have several super days(w JPMC and Capital One) but no offer yet.

So here in the UK IB and AM firms hire "graduates" meaning you work for 2 years on a rotational basis working with different groups and then if they like you after the two years you get a full time offer. Can anyone offer more insight to this? Are you a real employee during this time? How much do you make? Why don't you just go to America where there is no grad scheme?

Hi all, I will be joining Blackrock as a Full-Time Analyst and was wondering what the Analyst training programme is like, how long is it, does it start by covering basics (given that the roles are open to non-finance degrees) etc.? Any help/experiences would be much appreciated!

I applied to Investments - Multi Asset and Fixed Income divisions (NY and SF) and application says it is still under review. However, today I received an invitation to interview for an analyst position with their strategic product management group - I assume this is back office. I read a bit about it online but the job description seem quite vague. If anyone has any insight on the group, position, or interview process I would love to gain more insight. Also - better to work in a more front office position in a smaller firm or take position at prestigious firm and transfer to a more front

I read in a comment somewhere about someone wanting to create a Discord channel for incoming SA 2021. Did that happen or no? I would be interested in joining. Got an offer back in October and hoping to connect with others before the summer.

I have a 1st round interview with BlackRock Financial Market Advisory for SA 2015. The interview is literally a video recording of your answers that you submit to HR (welcome to automation lol). Anyone know what kind of questions they will ask? Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi- curious about what the monkeys on WSO think about this. I've been told that buyside is where almost every IB analyst hopes to end up. I just recently received an offer for an investment group at BlackRock (which is, at least my impression, a buyside destination). Would you recommend taking this offer with BlackRock over doing the more traditional IB route. What are advantages to taking this offer/potential downsides I'm not thinking of? Will pay differ at all long term or will this help me bypass the traditional two years of IB work? Any advice welcome!

Any insights on BR PEP on this forum? From what I've uncovered so far, they do a decent amount (+50% of time for Associates) of co-investments and are obviously one of the biggest names in AM. They do a modelling test and a case study during interviews, can anybode share their experience? Besides that, I would would be especially interested in team culture, hours/ work-life and their international set-up (opportunities to work in different offices etc.). Thanks

Long term goal is to go into AM/PM but any general feedback would be appreciated. Just got an offer for the Fidelity Capital Markets Summer Internship in Boston which I'm being told is my best bet. However, I'm awaiting a final result from BlackRock Alternatives (Credit). BlackRock pays more but Capital Markets is supposedly harder to get an offer with? Thoughts anyone?

Hi everyone! I have an interview with BlackRock for a graduate role in ICB Relationship Management in a few days and was wondering if anyone had any experience interviewing with them? What technical questions do you think I should expect? The interview is quite long (about 1.5-2 hours with several different interviewers) so I imagine there will be some tough questions. Any hints or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Hey Monkeys, A story just broke out that BlackRock is cutting bonuses due money flowing into passive funds. Many of us choose roles in Asset Management for increasing out skill set, exit opportunities , and (a very important part of overall comp) the bonuses. Curious to see what others think about current/future IB & AM roles(Analyst to VP)? Are there more banks and AM managers slashing bonuses?

Has anyone heard back from BlackRock for the Analyst program starting in 2016? The website is being weird and not letting me see my application - is this happening to anyone else?

Hi all Briefly, I'm stuck at a Decision Point at the end of my undergrad. I have been offered a full-time job starting next year with BlackRock's alternative investments team in New York. At the same time, I have also been offered a Rhodes Scholarship to study a masters in economics at the University of Oxford. Which would you choose? I am interested to hear the pros and cons from this community's perspective and to start a discussion to help me think about this holistically. The way I see it, by pursuing the masters: - Great networking opportunity - Arguably once in a lifetime opportunity But

Hi all! I had my BlackRock first round interview for a full-time analyst role with the Investment Stewardship group. It was a live video interview with a manager and an associate. Have any of you interviewed with this group? Does anyone know how long it takes for HR to get back after this first round? Eager to know if I made it to the superday or not. All help is appreciated!

Hi, Wondering about two specific offers I have and what makes more sense in the long run- BlackRock ETF & Index Investing or MS IB. If I wanted to go buyside eventually does starting at BlackRock help me or hinder me at all? Is the ETF/Index Investing team a better opportunity than just IB? What's potential career paths/salaries?

Just had a superday with BlackRock in NYC. What is the wait time for BlackRock after the superday? Most BB banks only take one or two days. I'm not sure if that applies to BlackRock as well? Does anyone have any experience with BlackRock recruiting?

Hey guys, Does anyone here have any recent employment experience with BlackRock? On their job application, it says you have to take a drug test within 72 hours of an offer, which seems a bit Gestapo-esque to me. Is this true? Not that I have anything to worry about in terms of drugs, but a pre-employment demand like that may be indicative of the firm's overall culture, which I don't think is a good thing. It seems like a fundamental mistrust of employees. Anyway, anyone here have any general BlackRock experience, and if so, is this true?

I am a non-target junior interested in investing. Which of the following would be a better opportunity for the summer? GS S&T (lets just say high yield/distressed desk) vs. BlackRock Fixed Income (don't know which fund) SA I have been reading Fabozzi and distressed debt analysis and am interested in fixed income....which of the above offers would be better in terms of lifestyle, pay, exit opps, and most importantly, learning opportunity?

I have an Analyst Superday for Blackrock Alternatives focusing on Private Capital Markets next week and as I've been in more of an admin role for the last couple years, I am rusty on technicals. I brushed up my DCF and LBO models, accounting, stock pitches, and macro trends - anything else I should look out for? Has anyone else interviewed with this group?

Any thoughts about this group? How is their reputation? Comp/exit opps/skills? BAI vs PMG/FMG/PAG? European openings are in London and Zurich. It is under Investments umbrella. Short description: ABOUT: The BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) team is responsible for strategic planning and oversight across BlackRock's 100+ billion alternatives investment platform including alternative solutions, direct hedge fund strategies, hedge fund solutions, real estate, infrastructure, private equity solutions and private market opportunities. Hi everyone, I few weeks ago I joined one of the biggest pension funds in Mexico (Over 50bn usd), specifically in the Private Equity division, as an Infrastructure&Energy Analsyt after being 2 years as a market risk analyst in another pension fund, so pretty good job in FO buy side as LP (Limited Partner). But now, almost at the same time I started my new job, I got contacted to start the recruitment process at GS in IBD as an Junior Analyst. I know the most common thing is going from IB to PE, but this PE is referred as KKR, Blackstone, etc. but what about PE from the perspective of a pension

Through my school, I got offered a 6 month internship with BlackRock in their Wilmington, Delaware office. The job title is "Data Services and Pricing". They only pay $400/week (possible overtime, but not that much). Also, I heard I don't learn as much there as a I do at some of these smaller companies, For instance, I could work for a small business Asset Management company for $600/week. But, having BlackRock's name on my resume is more prestigious. What do you guys suggest? BlackRock or a smaller firm, which I feel like I would learn more from (not to mention be paid more). I'm currently a college sophomore.

Hi, I am deciding between two offers with deadline tomorrow. One is BlackRock Solutions Center and the other is quant investment analyst with Prudential fixed income. I am kind of torn and not really sure what to do. When I met with people from both groups, they all seemed very nice and the atmosphere at the two firms are different but both appealing. If I'm interested in trading or investment management what would be the better choice this summer?

Interested to know if anyone here has made the jump from MBA to a top Asset Management firm. The firms I listed don't recruit on-campus at b-schools so trying to figure out how best to position myself.

Recently received a FT offer for this group and wanted to get some more up-to-date insight on where this group stands. I've read almost everything about this group that's been on WSO in the past and know they've done valuation of maiden lane vehicles, bank stress tests, and worked with Greek Bank. Wondering what people think of this group in terms of comparisons to PMG/FO AM roles, exit opps, group culture, etc, mostly for the NYC office. Also if anyone has any deeper understanding of what sort of skills one would build here (more focused on advisory vs valuation?) and if it is worth taking
