What does everyone here think this will mean for the 2020 SAs? The guarantee was made of an offer subject to "minimum requirements", and Citi are probably looking long term wrt this, so would assume it would have no effect. Would be interesting to know opinions on here though.

Hi WSO, I recently receive these two offers. Offer 1:Deloitte Consulting (Analytics & Information Management) Offer 2:Citibank Strategic Planning Assistant (Consumer Banking Contractor with chance to convert to FT analyst) The job in Citi would be assisting with planning for credit card operational strategy in consumer banking+compute interest rate and payment related work. My ultimate goal is to either lateral to MBB or get into top MBA schools, preferably after working for 2-4 years, and my interest is business strategy. Which one should I go for to get closer to a real"strategy role" and

I know this program appears to be still accepting applications, but does anyone know will there be any changes to the program (postpone, virtual, etc.)? Also, if anyone hear back from Citi or get accepted, here could be a place to share the news. Thanks a lot and stay healthy!!!

Citi's FIG group recently came to campus, and it is said that their FIG group is pretty good on the Street, like considered better than their general IBD department. I am wondering if that is the case, and what the exit ops look like? Got a FIG offer for the summer. Was wondering about this since there were next to no recent threads on Citi's IBD, nor FIG group in particular. Thanks!

Hey WSO (first post btw), Rising sophomore at a target here, planning on applying for this Citi program. Wondering if networking plays any role in the selection process. I know the program mostly takes diversity candidates and I'm not one, so I'm hoping a combination of strong resumé/GPA and networking could be enough to finesse a spot. Spoke to an IBD analyst there who wasn't too familiar with the program and unsure if referrals are a factor. If any past applicants/participants could shed some light that'd be great. Cheers. P.S. This forum has been super helpful in getting a sense for the

Hey guys, I'm wondering if bulge bracket banks have been still requesting drug tests for the interns whose internships became virtual? Not just in NY but Houston, Chicago, SF info is appreciated. I already heard that they cant test for THC in drug tests in NY anymore, so I don't need NY info. Info on bank's policies going into this summer in the other locations is much appreciated. Thanks in advance, I'm just trying to chief before my internship because I'm bored.

Hey guys, I was reading up on different groups under firms and their institutional groups, and I was wondering, as someone new to the world of finance, what life is like in this field at a BB. Is markets and securities the same as sales and trading? How are the hours compared to normal IB? What's the salary like? In general, what's the difference between a "Markets Analyst" and an "Investment Banking Analyst"? Sorry for my noobishness. Cheers.

Hey guys -- I just received an email saying I got a full-time interview for a Commercial Banking Analyst position with Citi. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to study for the interview as far as technicals? Thanks!

I recently interviewed at the Citi Commodities Analyst program. It has been 2 weeks already and I haven't heard anything back. Did anyone else already interviewed for this position before? Definitely would like to hear your thoughts or share any intelligence.

If you were given offers for these summer internships, which one would you choose and why? (With Citi converting around 80% of interns and Morgan Stanley converting 50% to grad offers).

Hi monkeys, Earlier today I found out that I was selected for an on-campus interview with Citi for their 2020 Corporate Banking Summer Analyst position. While I'm quite excited since it will be my first financial services interview (excluding dozens of networking calls with alumni and recruiting events). With this in mind, I want to make sure that I do eveything I can to properly prepare. Any general advice and/or tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

About CITI Summer Internship 2021, after my Online test for IB division 2 weeks ago, my status is still "Business Review. Is there someone who is able to explain the possible next steps? (of course, if I am pick up).

Hi all, Anybody out there have some insight into the different groups for Citi Capital Markets Origination? I've read on this site and other about LevFin and DCM/ECM being better options in terms of breadth of knowledge and exit opps, but honestly can't find more detailed info than that. Someone I spoke to recently mentioned some groups are more modeling intensive than others - seems odd given that everything else I've heard indicates that CMO in general doesn't do much modeling, if any. Wondering if anyone has some more insight here - do any groups model in CMO? What are some high level

Citi sophomore leadership applications opened up a few days ago. Figured I would make a thread since I have not seen one. I submitted the application and the assessment following it. Does anyone know what the recruiting timeline looks like/have already heard back?

I got an offer for Citi IB SA and I was curious to hear what the consensus was about Exit Opps and Reputation for some of its groups. I am interested in Media & Comms, M&A, and Industrials, but wanted to hear what other people think. I know for M&C it's not as strong as the boutiques that do it like EVR, PWP, and PJT, but are the exits still decent? I'm pretty interesting in the space. Will I get real deal experience or do they do more Debt Financings and Equity Offerings? M&A I'm guessing does well across the board but is probably pretty competitive. I've heard good things about Industrials

I have an offer for Citi's 2019 CMO program, and received a Superday invite to S&T at Goldman. What are pros/cons of each, and which would you suggest I take? The Citi offer expires before the S&T Superday, and I'm not sure yet if I can move my Superday earlier. I know Goldman has a better brand name, but I'm not sure if in general it is worth that much more. I'm trying to move into IBD full time-would either give me a better chance?

Was wondering if people can comment on these firms, I have options at both, but having trouble choosing. How do they stack up based on deal flow, culture, comp and exits opps?

Hey everyone, Has anyone heard anything back from BAML, Citi, JPM about a superday? I applied to Citi and JPM early August, and BAML a few weeks ago.

Hi, I have a superday for Citi in Houston (the global energy group) this week. I am wondering how much I should know about O&G. It is not my area of expertise, so I'm trying to read up on it as much as I can before it. If anyone has any tips or knowledge of what the interview entails AT ALL, or anything I should know related to oil and gas, please let me know!!! Thanks!

Hi WSO monkeys I got an offer to join Citi in London. Which are the best teams in terms of dealflow within the bank? I saw several articles speaking about Industrials in the US being strong, is that the case for London? Any views on Power&Utilities? Thanks!

Diversity recruiting has been the subject of several posts over the last few weeks. Although there are existing WSO posts that try to aggregate opportunity for diverse candidates, this one aims to be an exhaustive list that includes all the introductory programs and formal internship pipelines offered by firms on the street so candidate are aware of these opportunities. As new opportunities continue to be created, I plan to update this list. diversity investment bank programs The opportunities are separated into two buckets: introductory programs and internship opportunities. I'm interning for Citi in NYC and I was wondering if anyone has any idea as to how the virtual internships will work? Is there anything we can do to prepare (besides staying up to date on recent events)? How will we be evaluated? What do you think the structure will be? So many questions...what do you guys think?

The deadline for applying for the Citi Freshman Discovery Diversity Day was on 4/21. Citi is usually pretty good at turning decisions around quickly. Can anyone provide some insight into the program? Or is there any information about when the event will be rescheduled for/decision dates?

Hi all, Title pretty much says it all. What do you guys think about Citi combining its capital markets origination group with CIB? A way to shift execs around? Make internal processes more efficient? Curious to hear everyone else's thoughts. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-citigroup-rest… Cheers

Hi guys, I have a first round of interviews coming up with Citi FIG IBD London for a FT Analyst position and I was wondering if any of you know what I should expect. I have no previous experience with FIG recruiting, but have already done a SA with BB (LDN), so I am curious about FIG's process in particular rather than IBD's general recruitment. How technical will the interviews be? Any use of brain teasers? Does anyone have experience recruiting with Citi London? Many thanks in advance! YG

Hey everyone, I have just been scheduled to complete a first round phone interview with the IBD at Citi. Any advice, questions to expect etc? Are typical phone interviews technical or more behavioral/walk me through your resume? First time doing this for IBD so any advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

Have generalist offers for all three, trying to identify which to pick. Top groups at all three would be good, as a lot of information I keep finding is a little dated. Not necessarily looking to exit but would want to pick the firm that would give me the most options

I have been trying to research Citi Private Bank, but there really isn't a lot of information online. I have an offer from Citi Private Bank and was looking to hear what people had to say about them. I was wondering if anyone had any experience/insight on Citi Private Bank - would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi Guys, I'm new to all of this. I have studied a masters in Engineering, but have had an interest in trading so have had a go at it myself for the past few years. I have managed to finally get a summer internship in S&T in an investment bank and now have to rank preferences: Trading, Structuring, Sales, Research, Quant. I would like to pick trading and then sales, however I'm going to be completely honest and admit I dont really know what the others entail. This has probably been posted before, but can't find a post that answers this directly and concisely. Please link me to the post or share

I am currently interviewing for both a summer analyst position for Citi's Private Bank and Bank of America's Corporate Bank for positions in New York. I am a sophomore from a non-target school with a 3.8 GPA and got into these programs through their sophomore events. What are your guy's thoughts on which one should I take if hypothetically get offers from both? Which one has the better culture? Which one pays more? Which one gets me more experience? These would be for the summer of 2019 in the New York City offices and I have both of the superdays on Monday. Additionally, my 3 favorite areas

Gents, I have been granted several offers to join the following groups post MBA. A bit about my background worked in IBD for 2 years and moved to H.I.G Capital after in Brazil. Went to do my MBA at HSW and my main goal was to be in the US for some time. My plan is to work in an M&A group that will: 1) Give me exposure to large and complex deals --> Quality and size of Dealflow 2) An environment that challenges me every day ---> Access to smart and ambitious professionals 3) Optionality to break back into the buyside at a large megafund (KKR, Blackstone, Carlyle)---> Looking to go back to PE

What would you suggest to a student who is interested in banking, however not necessarily looking toward moving to HF/ PE? I like all the people I met at both firms. Hoping I can get more insight into experiences of people who worked at each bank

Both are in NY. I know they are not that different so probably it all comes down to culture. Really like the junior people at CS but not the MDs I've talked to. On the other hand, I like the senior people I talked to at Citi. Does anyone know what's the percentage of SA offers turning into FT at both banks? Also, any thoughts in terms of what to consider when picking the offer? Thanks lots!

Anyone have any info on Citi commodities? They do OCR at my school and a lot of people I know have accepted offers from their commodity S&T desk in Houston. What is their reputation? Is their commodity desk a dying business like at most other firms? Or are they one of the few strong players left like GS? Thanks in advance.

Received an offer for operations analyst 2 year program from Nomura and Commercial banking 2.5 year rotation program at Citi. Which one do you guys think is better in terms of exit opportunities, for b-school experience and in terms of overall learning scope?
31 Oct 2015
Which one would you guys pick based on exits (MBA, more FO roles, etc.), learning, etc? They're all very different and there's less information on them. I'd like to stay within finance (ideally a more FO role at a hedge fund) and am open to business school. Not looking to go into IB or PE.

I am debating between 2 very great internship. HR Analyst with Citi or Management Consulting internship with PwC. I felt like it was more competitive to get into Citi and I am going to have to work really hard summer at Citi. However, at PwC the atmosphere was a lot different. I really enjoyed the culture, how friendly everyone was and the work life balance. Both internships are 10 weeks. I am wondering which company would make my resume stand out for future employment opportunities. I know it really depends on what my end goal and desire for career is, but I have always equally liked the idea of going management consulting or HR. I would really appreciate any advice.
