Basically what the title says. I have offers from both and both in NYC. For evercore, I got an offer from their Private Funds Group and the CVP offer is generalist with mostly focused on M&A in HC/C+R I believe. Based on the offer letters, pay is basically the same or pretty much around the same to the point where it doesn't make much of a difference to me. I like the EVR culture better because it fits me more. I guess I'm more curious from a exit ops standpoint so want to know what you guys think...

Hi everyone, I got offers for 2021SA from these three firms. I was just hoping for any info on reputation/culture/compensation FT and which one would you recommend me to take and why? Also, how hard is it to exit to HF/AM from a top ER firm? What's the pay progression in associates? All positions in NY. Thank you for all the help! Sincerely, A confused and lucky monkey

Seen a lot of posts lately that consistently rank Evercore as the best EB and even better than most BBs. Want to know what exactly it is about Evercore that makes them so great? Is it because of great MD relationships resulting in more deal-flow, better comp, or just a prestige factor associated with the name? Thanks.

What about Evercore makes it consistently rank high for employee satisfaction? More lenient hours/more lenient and understanding MDs and management/unique perks or benefits?

Can someone enlighten me on exits from this group? I keep hearing it's a good group but how do their analysts exit compared to PJT or HL restructuring? How large is the FT class and where do they usually go?

Hey guys, prospective intern here interested in Aerospace & Defense IB. Wanted to ask if anyone had any knowledge on which banks are generally considered top in the A&D space. Thanks!

Evercore opened their SA 2021 applications weeks ago and on their online portal it says they will be closing them in May, with interviews commencing in April. For SA 2020 they didn't open their applications until much closer to the summer. I'm pretty concerned about there hyper-accelerated timelines. What are chances of getting in as a non-target? The profiles I see on linkedin are literally all target schools (think HYP, columbia, uchicago, cornell). I'm trying really hard to network a lot with the firm and hope for the best. I wanna know everyone's takes on this accelerated recruiting

Monkeys, What are the top groups at Evercore M&A when considering exits, culture, and deal flow (in that order)? As an incoming SA, wanted to get a feel for groups as the placement process has changed (generalist SA with no generalist FT time) and the firm has many smaller, vertical-focused groups rather than broad industry groups (Ex: FIG is split into Insurance, Banks, & FinTech while TMT is split into Tech, Media and Information, & Telecom). Thanks

So I've been trying to email alumni at Evercore, but my emails keep getting bounced. I keep getting a response saying: "Recipient address rejected: Access denied". Has anyone else been having this problem? Thanks

Hi!!!! First time poster here, all the info from WSO has been realllly helpful for getting me into finance, and I was wondering if I could get some help with a dilemma I've been having :) Senior Year recruiting has been the worst, but after what seemed like endless networking calls and M&I prep, I was able to secure an Analyst gig at Evercore starting Nov 2021 in a high COL city. I was hoping for direct placement into Lev Fin, but I got a generalist position which I guess is also good. I'm not as thrilled as I expected I'd be though, because I also got an offer from the Corporate Venture Fund

I've found this website to be immensely helpful throughout college and the beginning of my banking career. I thought I would return the favor by having an informative discussion around the current elite boutique landscape in the U.S. (although EB bankers elsewhere feel free to chime in). I think it's fair to say that EBs are becoming increasingly popular choice for undergrads going into finance, especially at target schools. For context, I'm a former EB analyst who spent two years there before leaving for private equity. My initial thoughts here obviously reflect my experience, but they're

Hey guys, current second year ANL in TMT at a lower tier BB. Interested in an updated view on Evercore's tech group, specifically w/r/t culture, hours, deal flow, deal size, signing bonus clawbacks (a la CVP), etc. Any color that could be provided would be helpful. Additionally, anything around jr banker retention in light of the exodus we're seeing at other firms broadly across the street. Thanks

Whenever I was asked this question, I never gave a bullshit answer. I said that obviously the hours aren't a pro of working in this industry, but its not something that i necessarily mind and it will help me learn a lot. I also brought up my student loan debt and that I really wanted to pay it off. Interested to hear other perspectives on this.

Hey y'all i applied to Evercore's ECM analyst position a couple of weeks ago. Anyone hear anything about this group or if they applied or not. Any information relevant to this would be awesome, thanks!

I'm lucky enough to have Full-Time Analyst offers for Investment Banking from both Evercore NYC M&A and PJT NYC M&A. I know I'm splitting hairs here but I'm just wondering if any of you have thoughts if one firm is slightly better positioned in terms of exit opportunities into PE mega-funds (Apollo, Blackstone, Warburg, KKR, TPG, Bain, Carlyle) as well as top MBA programs (Harvard, Stanford, Wharton)? Appreciate any insight!

Hi All, I'm currently an analyst at a EB (EVR / CVP / PJT) and business school has always been something I've wanted to do for various reasons, one of which is the optionality it provides for going abroad (originally from Asia). I know from personal sources that CVP sponsors MBAs, although I'm not sure what the clawback is / how long you have to stay after you come back from the MBA. I've been hearing EVR and LAZ also sponsor, although lesser known - although not from a personal source so not too clear on that. Do people have more visibility into who sponsors / what the terms are for

Hey guys, I am looking to get some insight into whether I should start my journey at an IB or HF - I know theres a few threads out there regarding this but would be great to get some opinions on starting at an EB like Evercore particularly vs HF for SA. Would starting at IB be better in terms of exit opps and going to HF later on..more transferable skills etc? Any input would be appreciated

Hi Everyone, I'll be starting full time at Evercore next year and I'm thinking about staying long term. I really enjoyed my internship and loved the people and work, but I'm wondering what the all-in compensation is like after the couple of analyst years. I don't want to miss the boat for exit recruiting, but if the pay scales nicely, I hope to become a career banker. My analyst class (2021) was offered $95,000 base salary + $25,000 signing bonus, and assuming 80% end of year bonus (+$76,000) = $196,000 total compensation. How much does the pay scale for Associates, VP, and MD? I just hoped to

Hey guys, longtime lurker here. This forum has been super helpful for me in navigating the recruitment process and I wanted to ask y'all for advice now that this is coming to a close for me. Currently have offers from 4 and superdays with 2. I would love to hear your opinions on each bank in regard to exits, analyst experience, etc. I'm definitely leaning Moelis/Evercore and I'm pretty indifferent to location. Thoughts everyone?

I am fairly well acquainted with Evercore NY however, have a connection in the London EVR office. How is the reputation? Is it improving? Does/Can it compute with other BB's/EB's in London/EMEA? Good Exit Opportunities? All input is appreciated.

Recently accepted an SA offer at EVR for the summer 2021 and wondering what compliance do SAs have to follow in terms of equity ownership and what brokerages are allowed? I currently have a decent amount in individual stocks on Robinhood and just want to plan out if I have to sell/move my equities. If anyone could provide insight, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I just got a interview for Evercore ISI equity research sales, can someone shed some light on it. What should I expect at the interview?

Anyone here applied to the Evercore Rising Junior Diversity Scholarship this year? If so, does anyone know when we will hear back? Also if anyone went through this process last year and could shed some light that would be great as well. Thanks guys and good luck with recruiting!

Does anybody know Evercore Strategic Shareholder Advisory Group and its recruiting timeline for full-time analyst? Had an initial phone screen in early September but no words since then. Curious if anyone already had a second round or Superday with them. Thanks for any information!

Hi All, Just wanted to learn more about Evercore's Restructuring practice. Not a lot of information on WSO that's recent and wanted to learn more about comp, work, rankings, exit opportunities and the like. Thanks!

Was wondering if anyone had any information on the full time recruiting process at MF's (BX, KKR, Apollo, TPG, Warburg, etc.) for undergrad students. I'll be at a top EB for my SA stint and, though I will most likely stay for FT, I figured I might as well at least try for a few MF's now since it might give me a leg up come associate recruiting. Any advice on how the recruiting process is structured and on how to do well in any coffee chats/interviews is appreciated. Thanks.

Now that Evercore's M&A NYC Analyst class is getting bigger (~50 Analysts) and they are placing Analysts into groups earlier - I was wondering what the top groups at Evercore are considered to be? I'm interested from a deal flow perspective, prestige perspective, and best exit opportunities into PE mega-funds (Blackstone, Apollo, KKR, Warburg, Carlyle, Bain, TPG). Specifically for NYC and specifically for M&A.

While we all know Evercore is a good shop in terms of $ value and deal flows, does it really outperform the other shops in terms of exits and analyst quality? Do top kids from H/W go there at all? I know a few kids at both and I don't think the most finance-savvy kids go there. It seems like most people at Evercore M&A either have connections with the senior management or good grades - but other than that nothing really stands out. Again, this is not meant to say it is bad, but there just seems to be a mismatch between its reputation here and what I have seen. The average kids at decent

Hi, I'm a rising junior from a semi-target. I'm very interested in Evercore, but Evercore barely hires from our school. I recently found out we have an alum joined Evercore as a Senior Managing Director for a year, and I just cold emailed him. I was super lucky, this MD agreed to grab coffee with me. I'm wondering how should network with him during our coffee chat and get my first-round. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, community!

Hey guys, So I know people have explained what PCA is on here, but can I get some insights about what an analyst does day to day? I know that the group focuses on raising money for funds and also advising funds on whether to sell their assets off or not but what specifically does the analyst do to support the process? Financial modeling to determine value of potential sell/purchase assets/interests owned by clients? Marketing materials to raise funds for clients? Market/industry research to support clients investment thesis? If I'm totally off, please correct me guys, but I'd be very

Hello All, Just for fun, I thought it would be interesting to get everyone's take on the top 10 groups in investment banking considering reputation, dealflow, senior leaders within group, overall prestige, etc. I totally recognize this is subjective and shouldn't be used as a way to make employment decisions. With that said, what are YOUR top 10 groups across BB, EB, MM, etc?

Can anyone shed some color on Evercore's relatively new group, Activism & Defense? I'm interested in learning about the responsibilities of analysts, exit opportunities, and work-life balance compared to your standard M&A or coverage roles. Thanks!

Hey monkeys, Got an offer from Evercore for Full Time. I was wondering if anyone had insight into what their PE placement looks like at the analyst level, and what their MBA placement looks like further down the line. Haven't really decided what I want to do in the next 2-3 years, but Im curious as to how Evercore places. Thanks!

Wondering how Evercore fairs for PE placement in London compared to the bulge bracket banks? Stress this is for London, not US. Afaik their UK business is basically just the old Lexicon business, so wondering if the prestige/exit opps still hold.

I'm starting full-time this summer at a boutique with solid M&A and RX franchises and wanted to get some info and advice before training starts. The firm is pretty well known (Evercore/Moelis/Lazard/Greenhill) and I have the option of going with either M&A or RX. I did not summer at the firm and so can't really pick based on culture. I also have no specific industry interest. As someone who's undecided between PE/associate promote/b-school, which route would offer me the best experience and most opportunities? Also can anyone speak to the differences between being in a dedicated RX team (LAZ

How is the culture/deal flow/hours/exit opps/etc at Evercore's tech m&a group? I know they're split between NYC/SF (Menlo Park), but any insight on the group (mostly culture and hours) would be great.

Curious to see how BB Analyst Class sizes compare to boutiques given how much boutiques have grown in the past years. Especially interested in numbers from PWP and Evercore. For the 2016 Analyst class, Moelis has 24 in NY and 8 in LA

Trying to figure out what industry/product focused teams have offices in San Francisco. Particularly interested in bulge brackets and e.boutiques as well as any consumer/retail focus If anyone could add to this list it would be greatly appreciated: Greenhill - advisory (M&A restx) Lazard - healthcare GS - TMT, generalist DB - Tech Barclays - Tech (Menlo Park) Moelis - Tech (Palo Alto) JPM - Tech Needed (in addition to any other groups that the above may cover): Evercore MS BAML CS Perella Weinberg Partners Peter J Solomon

Folks - anyone interviewed with Evercore's restructuring group recently? Are they recruiting? I heard they did some phone screens. How was the experience and what kind of questions did they target? Any help will be extremely appreciated!

Hi guys, Can anyone opine on which of the top MM's and E-Boutiques are best? Especially the top MM's vs the boutiques that target the large deals. In terms of exit ops into PE, VC and top MBA's. I am looking in to firms like Harris Williams, Baird, SunTrust, HLHZ compared to firms like Evercore, Jeffries, Perella Weinberg. Thanks!

This is my first post on WSO after lurking for 2-3 years and I appreciate the insight/opinions in advance. For FT opportunities and PE exit opps, which option is better? Can you please provide some specific examples if possible? Thanks!
