Has anyone heard back regarding the superday that is being held tomorrow for Jefferies Houston - SA 2021? Also, does anyone know what to expect?

Rich Handler is too busy trying to slide into some Insta-thot's DMs to pay attention to the fact that his bank is giving out abysmally low return offer rates during a pandemic, even though they didn't terribly miss any targets, while other banks gave return offers to everyone. Also they sued bankers to get back signing bonuses when they left early, what a BETA move (this is only chill when Centerview does it). FUQKE Rich Handler. The steamy culture is only getting worse and "lean" teams are fuh-reakin bone slim now that they aren't bringing back many interns, especially for that Houston group

If you had summer analyst offers at both, which one would you go to? Since CS is a BB and Jefferies is MM, I would think CS is better, but have had a few people at my school tell me they'd take Jefferies over CS. In terms of: 1. Exit Ops (MF PE?) 2. Culture 3. Learning Experience / Quality of Work How do CS and Jefferies vary?

I'm a sophomore non-diversity at a non-target school and have spoken to a number of people at Jefferies and have heard of a great work environment and culture at the firm. With Summer 2021 SA applications opening for them in late spring (according to campus recruiting and the bankers I networked with) I am wondering what their strongest divisions are. I heard their LevFin and Healthcare areas place incredibly well for PE and are miles ahead of other MM firms. How does Jefferies line up against BBs regarding exit ops and overall prestige? I've looked into other posts on this site and most

Anyone have any idea what the timeline is for Jefferies 2021 FT Analyst? Just got off the phone with MD and he said that they expired a few weeks ago, but I've been following FT threads and none of them said Jefferies opened up FT apps yet. Talked to an Analyst and VP in the same group a few weeks back and said that they haven't opened yet, but to keep my eyes open in September. Would've been around the same time as when the apps were apparently open. Anyone else know what the timeline is?

Hey Guys, I just had a super-day for the Jefferies 2020 Investment Banking Summer Analyst position in Charlotte about a week ago. I have not heard anything back yet and I was wondering if anyone else has? If it were in NY, I would assume that I didn't get an offer since it has been a week, but... this is the south, and the Jefferies office in Charlotte does not have a defined HR structure as far as I know. So, my optimistic side is telling me that its reasonable to assume that it would take them a bit longer to get back to me. Does anyone have any information? Thanks.

I have an upcoming interview at Jefferies with the Investment Banking Management Team for the analyst role and just looking to see if anyone has some insight into the team. I spoke with the recruiter and got a decent overview, but looking for a little more info. I know it isn't a front office team and I currently do back office/support at a hedge fund as a Business Analyst so that isn't an issue for me. Any info would be helpful.

I was wondering if anyone had info on Jefferies app process. I want to withdraw one of my apps to apply to a different division, but there is an app limit of 2. Will withdrawing still count as an application?

Wondering if anyone has any insight into Jefferies IBD recruiting for 2019 as far as timeline. Are most spots filled already? From looking on their website it doesn't seem like they have an active application open for 2019 summer analyst positions currently. Any insight would be very appreciated. Also was wondering if Jefferies tends to lean more technical like the boutiques or more behavioral like the BBs

Can anyone provide any color on the following banks regarding their tech / fintech coverage? Any info appreciated regarding dealflow, comp, culture, etc. How would you rank them? For NYC. * Jefferies * Cowen * Nomura * Rothschild * PJ Solomon * FT Partners * GP Bullhound

Hey all - I will be starting at Jefferies this summer. It's a generalist program, so I am trying to think ahead in terms of what groups I should shoot for. I would like to recruit for private equity and wanted to ask this forum how Jefferies analysts recruit - what sorts of funds invite Jefferies analysts to interviews, how are they perceived, how do they place, etc.? I looked for old posts but they are a little outdated, and given how fast the process seems to be now vs. then, wanted to get the lowdown on the most recent recruiting cycles. I did a quick search on LinkedIn and found people

Can anyone please confirm hours for entry level positions across ER for Jefferies in London? Currently hearing different things, i.e. sweatshop, which shouldn't be the case, especially since my source isn't very credible. Thanks

Hey all, Just received an offer from a top MM investment bank, and the offer is in NYC. They gave me an offer expiring next Thursday, so have less than a week to make a decision. While I'm confident I want to do investment banking, I'm a bit hesitant about taking the offer for two reasons: Firstly, I am not confident in their exit opps after 2-3 years. While they have done well on the league tables (regularly top 5 MM bank for deal value as well as deal volume), it has been hard to gauge their relationship to PE firms/what the exits would look like. I am hesitant to give their name since they

There's a ton of IB restructuring rankings that seem to be all over the map. Instead of ranking the groups, it'd be way more helpful if some rx vet's could talk about each of the less covered teams' main qualities: reputation, exit opps, management, growth trajectory, recent mandates, etc. Guggenheim Centerview Ducera Partners PWP Rothschild Jefferies Piper Jaffray TRS Advisors

Any insight into Jefferies / Houlihan TMT in San Francisco? How do the two compare in terms of culture, deal flow, and exit opportunities? Are either / both generally respected in the TMT space? I know there's been some upheaval at Jefferies with several new MD's coming over from CS in the past year, but it sounds like their deal flow has been pretty solid.

Which would be a better option? Primarily concerned with culture and exits opps to PE. There does not seem to be as much info on Guggenheim Exits and the info that is out there is very contradictory.

Which one would you take for the SA program, both in NY and both generalist programs.
31 Jan 2014
Obviously it's below the Goldmans, JP, Morgan Stanley, Greenhill for example. Generally speaking though, from a prestige/reputation level, where does Jefferies stand amongst its peers?
15 Nov 2012
Does anyone know the details regarding Jefferies' Energy Group in Houston? I would like to know more about 1) compensation for analysts, 2) deal flow, 3) future outlook, 4) overall culture of people there, and 5) exit opportunities. Also in regards to exit opps, how supportive are the senior bankers in helping you place into PE if that's the route you wish to take? I know there's a lot of bashing on Jefferies on WSO for some reason, and please reply only if you have valid information regarding this specific group and can give unbiased opinions.
16 Nov 2013
Sorry for another one of these threads, but I'm curious to see your thoughts on which one of these you would select (for SA). I'm leaning towards Rothschild at the moment since I think it's a stronger bank overall. I like Jefferies HC (who doesn't), but neither the Jefferies or Rothschild offer is group specific.

Hello everyone. I am currently doing my undergrad in the UK and I completed my IB summer internship at a BB in Frankfurt, Germany. I received a full-time offer, however I really want to start my career in London. I recently applied at Jefferies in their London office and I wanted to know if anyone knew anything regarding their Industrials Team in terms of reputation/deal flow/culture/exit opportunities? I heard the bank is growing in Europe but I don't know if it really competes with BBs and EBs in the European market. Thank you!

Can anyone provide info on Jefferies' Fixed Income department? I'm currently a junior and through some connections I think that I may have a good shot at an internship there, but I wanna know how it compares to BBs. Is it comparable to Morgan Stanley FI? Or a smaller JPM/DB/GS? Or worse than both groups? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Since it's a much smaller bank, I've had a lot of trouble finding information on the department.

Need help guys. Both IBD in NYC. Which would you choose and why? I know GS has better exit opps, but how much better? Also, is analyst pay higher at Jefferies? Any info is helpful. Thanks in advance.

How long does it take Jefferies to get back with an offer or rejection? This was for lateral. Do offers come from HR or actual team?
27 Aug 2013
I have an offer at both firms (NYC) and trying to make the decision. - Both banks have same growth story and are strong in the MM - RBC acts more with their balance sheet and can support larger financing - Jefferies name is stronger than RBC in the U.S. - Both banks have pulled a lot of top MD talent from BB through the financial crisis - RBC is headquartered in Canada, which will always have an effect on perception - Both banks will have smaller groups than BB which will be better for developing skills and having more responsibility With both being a generalist offer, which would you take, and why?

First off, I go to a target. will be interviewing with JEF soon for IBD. A few of my friends who interviewed with them for SA positions said it was extremely tough. Most don't remember exactly what was asked, although a couple said that the interviewers started asking questions about broader market conditions. Anyone have experience interviewing with JEF who can share the types of questions that they got?

Hi guys, I have a final round interview w/ Jefferies this week. I was just wondering if anyone had their final rounds already and if so, what questions should I expect? More fit vs. technical or a combination of both? Furthermore, if anyone else has interviewed with a MM firm, what did they ask in their final rounds? If technical, do they go beyond the basics? Thanks!

So... what is the impression of Jefferies nowadays? I remember back in the Leveraged Sellout days, Jefferies was the brunt of most WSO (IBO back then) jokes. What about now? Jefferies has grown since then, and it's deals are bigger than before. http://www.jefferies.com/2010notables/ Is Jefferies seen as an up and coming bank (i.e. the next Bear Stearns minus the bankruptcy)? Or is it still seen as a primarily MM bank? Who would you consider to have practices of a similar scale and quality in the US? BNP Paribas? Macquarie? UBS? Yeah, I did intern at Jefferies, but I am joining another bank. Just curious mainly.

Hi all. I've just got a first round interview next week for Jefferies summer intern in London, I've got a few questions which I would be grateful if someone could answer me.... Since I'm from a science background, I'm not 100% sure what to prepare for technical questions for ibd, can anyone give me some topic to revise on? I've looked at some other posts about jefferies and some mentioned about talking about other applications, well, to be honest, I'm not the best candidate so all I have now is ICAP accessment centre and some phone interviews... Should I avoid telling them anything about my applications? Lastly, is it difficult to get an offer for the summer intern in jefferies? I might be one odd chinese applying for Jefferies, and I'm afraid that would discount my chances too.

Hey guys, I have an offer for full-time IB at both Citi and Jefferies in NYC. I know a big part of my decision will be the group that I get into at Citi, but we don't find that out until after training and they can't make any guarantees. I would like to be in either m&a or comm there, but who knows what will end up happening. Anyway, where would you choose to go? What place has a better name right now in terms of exit opps? Also, if anyone has any color on the groups that are best at Citi, please let me know. Thanks for the help.

Hey All, I've read a lot of topics here and I know some of you guys are way more knowledgeable than I am when it comes to IBD vs AM and specific firms. I've got a specific question I hope you guys could help me out with. What are your thoughts on compensation/exit opps/the street's view/etc. on these guys? I'm thinking of going HF or PE or maybe going an entrepreneurial route but would prefer taking one of these jobs first. IBD: Jefferies (Seems to get bashed alot...whats the deal w/ these guys?) Nomura (What is Wall St.'s sentiment towards these guys right now? How are they performing, etc.?) AM: T Rowe Price (Prestigious? Kind of in B-more...not the most idealistic place to be)

Hi everyone: I have two offers on the table. One is for J.P. Morgan's Mid-Cap group and the other is for Jefferies' generalist program (both summer analyst positions). Which one would you take and why? Thank you!

This summer I accepted an offer at a MM (Jefferies/WF/RBC), which I was initially very excited about. While I still believe it to be a great opportunity, I cannot shake the though of possibly lateraling to an EB like Moelis or Evercore. There is one reason, besides the fact that they are more prestigious shops, which has driven me to this recurring mindset, and that is the lean nature of these banks. I appreciate their sole commitment to the advisory aspect of the industry, as I believe the offering of every product under the sun by large banks can often dilute their ability to best advise

Hey, I have an offer for Jefferies for their NY generalist program, and was wondering if anyone had any insights on what the experience there is like. Specifically, I'm interested in hearing about (1) deal flow, (2) amount of responsibility analysts take, and (3) exit opps. I'm mostly interested in hearing from actual bankers, or people who personally know of some one working there. Please, no bashing.

Can anyone speak to the strengths of the IG desk at Jefferies? In particular the credit analysis that supports the trading? Also anything regarding atmosphere, comp, exits would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I may have a phone interview coming up with them in the next few days. Any tips? I'm pretty sure that they're always been pretty well respected in research. Does anyone know if any stars have left? Also, I'm trying to get a list of their ranked analysts. What is the best metric? I don't know what it more accurate: WSJ's Best on the Street or StarMine? Jefferies is depicted really well on Starmine and mediocre on WSJ's Best on the Street. Are there other metrics I should be using like II (any place that offers that for free)? Thanks in advance

I'm trying to decide which would be better for an IB summer internship: Jefferies or Lazard MM. I would like to learn more about M&A and possibly pursue it full time. I know a decent amount about Jefferies, but not much about Lazard MM. Any info or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

This is absolutely fantastic. Just when you think there isn't any corporate conscience left, Jefferies steps up and renews your faith in humanity just a little bit. The investment bank announced that all net commissions and salaries from trading Friday will be donated to earthquake relief in Haiti. They're were at $4.5 million, and they wanted the total donation to be $6 million by day's end. Here's hoping they made it. This is an example of Wall Street using its enormous power for good. My hat is off to each and every employee at Jefferies, especially those who have generously donated a day's
