I have been given a phone interview for JP Morgan Chase's MMBSI Analyst position. I'm just curious if this first round will be super technical, or if it will be more behavioral and fit. If anyone knows, what could I expect from the interview and the job in general?

I have a superday in October with JP Morgan in Commercial Banking ( I will interview for one their divisions of MMBSI, CCBSI, or Real Estate). I want to know what should technical/interpersonal skills I should practice. What key insights or advice would you give to standout as a candidate. Thanks! *Note I can pick 2 divisions within Commercial Banking, so any advice on any division would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, I was just browsing through JPM's career webpage and they said applications for their Markets internship are now open. However, if I click on the internship page, I could only apply for positions in the US. Am I right that they didn't start recruiting in EMEA yet? Or is there sth wrong with my browser..l

Just wondering if anyone has heard back for summer 2015? Any idea when they start to do interviews? Also, do they only notify you if you've been invited to interview or do they send out rejection emails as well? Thanks for any responses!

I am a sophomore at Baruch College majoring in Applied Math. And I am interested in a career and a summer analyst internship next year in credit risk at a BB IB. I heard that Baruch is recruited heavily for middle or back office. Front office not so much. Since risk is middle office I want to know if the BB IB recruit from Baruch for credit risk/ risk management?

Hat tip to Yves Smith on this one. This is just awful. Chase customer Ikenna Njoku went to his local Chase branch to cash a cashier's check issued by Chase themselves, and he wound up in jail, lost his job, and had his car sold out from under him. But it was all a mistake. Chase really screwed the pooch on this one. Check it out: How bad would you freak out if this happened to you?

I don't want to work in New York, LA or Chicago. I would just like a financial Analyst job in Ohio at JP Morgan Chase bank or maybe even something less than that. I might want to work for a Fortune 500 company So do you need to go to a Target school? Isn't it unrealistic to believe that every finance job in the world has to be held by people who went to a group of 5 schools I don't mean to come off snotty, I'm just dissapointed I couldn't get into a Target school lol. Well anyways what do you think?

I have the possibility of joining one of the following groups at JP Morgan in London: M&A FIG Natural Resources Industrials TMT I'd be very interested in getting any feedback from someone who might have insight into: +work hours (I'm guessing FIG might have the longest) +amount of modeling done +responsibility early on (I hear the M&A team is pretty young) +transferrable skills for a non-banking position later on (think Capital Markets, this might be the same for all groups though) +size of the group (balance between Senior and Junior people) +anything else that might be helpful in getting a better understanding of them Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys, I have two offers. One for an analyst position with JP Morgan's Corporate Analyst Development Program, and the other for an analyst position with an MC firm. What are your views on middle-office investment bank, vs. management consulting? Thanks!

If JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon isn't trying to replace Timothy Geithner, he sure could have fooled me. In an interview with the Financial Times he objected strongly to the new Basel III requirements and advocated an American pull-out from Basel if American banks weren't granted an exemption.
That foray into "I'm very close to thinking the United States shouldn't be in Basel any more. I would not have agreed to rules that are blatantly anti-American," he said. "Our regulators should go there and say: 'If it's not in the interests of the United States, we're not doing it'."

Vacation rental giant HomeAway.com is getting ready to go public this summer in an IPO valued at an estimated $300 million. The company has selected Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan Chase, and Goldman Sachs to manage the offering. The offering is a further sign the IPO market may be coming back from the dead. Lofty valuation aside (it's hard to imagine the multiple they're commanding when they only charge property owners $300 a year for their service, but I'll withhold judgment until I see the S-1), this is a very cool company. Those of you who've been reading my stuff for a while know

Hi all,

It might be a little tough to choose sides in this one. Yesterday, Lehman Brothers Holdings filed suit against JP Morgan Chase alleging that Chase used inside information to extract $8.7 billion in assets from Lehman in the days leading up to Lehman's collapse. Lehman is seeking $5 billion in damages and a return of the $8.7 billion in excess collateral demanded by Chase when it was clear Lehman would not survive. Chase contends the case is without merit, so there's no surprise there. At the heart of the matter is whether or not Chase used material non-public information (gleaned from counter

Hey, I recently got an offer from UBS for the the Wealth Management Graduate Training Program in Weehawken, NJ. It's a technical position (because I'm computer science), so we'll be doing two years of rotations (with each rotation lasting 6 months). Has anyone gone through this program/is in the program now/know anything about this program? Would you recommend it? A little about my previous work background: I worked at Merrill Lynch two summers ago in Global Wealth Management, and this past summer I worked at JP Morgan Chase in Private Bank technology, in Newark, Delaware. I did get a return offer from JP for the Corporate Development Program (Tech), in Delaware... If I go back to JP, I'll probably be working in investment bank technology (what specific team, I don't know yet). The CDP lasts for two years, and we won't be doing rotations (unless you happen to be in Chase card services, which I won't be), just direct hire. Any thoughts as to where I should go?

I will be graduating in May 2012 with degree in Finance. I recently accepted an offer at JP Morgan for the 2012 Operation summer internship Development Program, the program starts in June and runs through August 2012. Since the internship is only 10 weeks long and I will be in need of a full time position after. I need some advise on what is the appropriate way to apply for the jobs now. A few questions I have are: - When is the appropriate time to begin to apply for the next job? Should I be applying now or after I start the position? - Can I add the position to my resume now with the

Hi, I am a rising junior interested in banking. Recruiting as a sophomore was pretty rough, so I ended up with a couple summer internship offers in some pretty random, unrelated fields. The first is Operations with JPM in NYC and the other is an internship with Mastercard at their HQ in Purchase, NY in "Market Development". Pay is similar although cost of living is higher in the city (though networking would be easier). My question is simply which offer to take, given my long-term career aspirations in banking or possibly consulting?

The saying "chickens coming home to roost" is believed to be more than half a millennium old. That's a pretty long time to not learn a lesson...for an entire species. I remember going to a birthday party when I was 5-ish, one youngin' pooped himself and tried to hide the skidmarkers beneath the carpet. It didn't work out well for him. Years later, I hear he's in therapy due to severe anxiety brought about by chronic constipation. Perhaps one of these days, we'll learn from our mistakes. This futures contract from hell suggests otherwise.

One of the big problems with the current financial crisis is that banks aren't giving loans to qualified borrowers anymore. Yadda, yadda, yadda, dreaded 'credit crunch' ensues. But, as some secretive New York Times reporting recently revealed, some banks are less concerned with that and more concerned with buying out all their competitors. Dudes, seriously? Joe Nocera, a NYT reporter, listened in on a JP Morgan Chase 'employees only' conference call and gathered this information. Apparently some lower-level employee on the call asked, "Chase recently received $25 billion in federal funding
