I have an upcoming interview with Rothschild for Summer 2021 and I was wondering if anyone had done any first rounds interviews so far and could provide some information about what they were like. I Had a first-round phone interview with Evercore last week and haven't heard back yet so I think I got dinged, so I'm hoping to prepare a little better for this interview on Friday. Any advice or tips would be helpful!

Can anyone provide any color on the following banks regarding their tech / fintech coverage? Any info appreciated regarding dealflow, comp, culture, etc. How would you rank them? For NYC. * Jefferies * Cowen * Nomura * Rothschild * PJ Solomon * FT Partners * GP Bullhound

Was hoping people could lend some insight into these three firms. I would be looking to do M&A at UBS/Gugg or RX at Rothschild. Specifically, what are the exit ops like from the three places, I want to eventually do PE and want to know which would give me the best chance to end up at a good firm. (All NYC)

First time poster - just trying to get some good advice on where would be a better place to start a career within IBD in London specifically. Holding offers from both for their Spring Programme for University students. I know very early days but they clash so have to make a decision. Interested in Summer Analyst / Analyst experience at each and breadth of exit opportunities. Not too worried about pay or relative 'rankings.' Thanks very much any opinions really appreciated.

Have offers from these three firms for SA. Was hoping to get input on which offer is the best. Specifically, which will have the best exit opportunities down the road for PE (have not heard much about Guggenheim exits)?

There's a ton of IB restructuring rankings that seem to be all over the map. Instead of ranking the groups, it'd be way more helpful if some rx vet's could talk about each of the less covered teams' main qualities: reputation, exit opps, management, growth trajectory, recent mandates, etc. Guggenheim Centerview Ducera Partners PWP Rothschild Jefferies Piper Jaffray TRS Advisors

Hi all - does anyone have any insight into what does Corporate Shareholder Advisory or Global Advisory within Rothschild does? Is this ECM role? Can I move around the bank after a year (went to top target uni) or so? What are the exit opps? Thanks

Opinions on Lazard vs. Rothschild (both NYC, full-time analyst)? Saw content on WSO, but updates were from 2011. I know both firms have changed a lot in the past few years, and am interested to learn more about their reputation, deal flow, experiences, offices, path forward, etc.

Thought I would start this for anyone who is interested in the Sophomore Women's Program for Rothschild! Would love to hear if anyone has any information as to the timeline going forward for the program or news.

Got a first round interview with Rothschild IBD for SA in 2018. The interviewer told me to have a pen and paper ready... what should I expect/how should I prepare? Thanks.

Been reading and seeing Rothschild on a lot of big deals in the past year... Intel, Solera, Hostess, etc... any thoughts on Rothschild? I know people have said in the past Rothschild is more of an MM firm in the US and were perhaps a bit behind other MM banks, but seems like they are really improving. Or are these deals not going to be the norm? Implications on analyst experiences and exit opps, I would imagine, would drastically improve too right?

Hi guys, I have a 1st round interview for the Summer Intern position with DC Advisory coming up this week. I will have 10 min conversation with Dartmouth Partners (ex Cornell Partnership) employee. Any idea what can I expect? Btw, this is for either London office. Additionally, there are very few threads here on DC Advisory and not much info. Anyone care to share their thoughts on the standard stuff - culture/pay/learning/prestige/exit-opps/top-groups/etc. This thread could be useful to future candidates and people interested in the company. Some stuff that I was able to get so far (German office, a bit outdated), so I can hopefully contribute something at least: - Intern salary - EUR 1500 p.m. + bonus (Germany) - Analyst base: EUR 65k - Associate base: EUR 72-90k

Whats the difference between in Big4 restructuring and restructuring team from Lazard, Rothschild, HL & other specialized IBs? I noticed the big4 have dedicated restructuring teams, and the job description includes items like (formal insolvency work; financial restructuring; operational restructuring; crisis cash management; impaired loan advisory services) in addition to hours/pay/prestige difference, can anyone speak to the actual day-to-day responsibilities, skills learned, exit opportunities from an analyst/associate's point of view? thank you so much for your help

I've done a search, yes, but there's not too much info around here about Rothschild in NYC. I know that their RX is top-notch. But what about M&A? Pay, culture, learning experience, exit opps? Strong/best verticals to cover? Could one work at Rothschild 2-3 yrs as an analyst and go into PE? Or will one have to lateral? How do they compare to other top MMs (HL, WB, Stifel, WF, RBC, HW)? I know that they poached some Barclays bankers a couple months back and I may express an interest in that group (consumer retail). Any thoughts? This is for FT. Thanks

Sorry for another one of these threads, but I'm curious to see your thoughts on which one of these you would select (for SA). I'm leaning towards Rothschild at the moment since I think it's a stronger bank overall. I like Jefferies HC (who doesn't), but neither the Jefferies or Rothschild offer is group specific.

Any ideas on how these stack up in terms of reputation/culture/exit opps/any other factors? Thanks

Fortunately, I was able to receive offers from the following banks for their summer analyst program 2015: Offers Credit Suisse (FFM), Rothschild (FFM), Perella Weinberg Partners (LND), Macquarie (LND), BoAML (LND) All offers are for M&A or generalist at the BB. Which one would you choose? What are your thoughts about Perella Weinberg Partners in London? Which one will pay the most at Analyst level and has the best prestige and exit-options?

Any advice? Is the first round purely competency or are there some technical questions as well. Any input would be appreciated. Cheers

Could anyone tell me about Rothschild in Asia? Specifically - Singapore and Hong Kong. Are they as reputable in Asia as they are in Europe? I understand that they are a boutique investment bank. Frankly, I'm not sure how they stand vs. other Asian boutique IBs. Thanks in advance :)

So how would you guys rank these banks strictly based on opportunities to Distressed Hedge Fund/ PE firms? I figure Blackstone and Lazard are at the top, but I have an opportunity to pursue with a couple of the firms listed below and wanted to see where it sizes up: Evercore Moelis Centerview P J Solomon Miller Buckfire Millstein Greenhill Rothschild Guggenheim Imperial Chanin (D&P's Rx arm) This is strictly for the restructuring practices of each firm listed. Again not really trying to rank which one is marginally better than the other, but perhaps a tier system? Just to see which ones have possibilities for distressed buy-side options. LinkedIn provided very little in terms of strictly distressed buy-side opportunities, btw. Thanks for all the help.

Does anyone have any insight on sovereign advisory groups? From my research it seems that Lazard and Rothschild are big players in this field although I am having trouble distinguishing what it actually means to be in sovereign advisory or if it's even considered a "group" at all. Lazards list of soverign advisory transactions includes M&A deals involving state owned coroporations, issuing government debt, and fundraising for state infastructure projects. Thanks.

Choosing from: PWP, DB, and Rothschild I am from a semi-target trying and was lucky enough to get 3 SA offers, all NYC Which would you pick in terms of deal experience, prestige, exit opps?

My friend has SA IBD offers at Piper Jaffray, Rothschild, RBC, Mizuho, and Nomura in NYC. How would you rank these firms? She's interested in FT BB and PE exit opps. Thank you!

Saw a similar post on this from a while back, but want to see if there is any further insight on the reputation of BX M&A (not RX) in London? Rothschild is in a league of its own in terms of number of deals in Europe, although a lower average deal size.. €499m for Roths vs. €1.3bn for BX in Europe since 2008 (MergerMarket). BX has the better global brand name, and better reputation for quality of talent (at least in the US). Any other thoughts?

Stumbled upon this pretty interesting animated video that shows how the Rothschilds started and run the fed. I'm pretty convinced that they could've been behind the murder of JFK.Pretty scary stuff.

Monkeys, Has anyone else ran into trouble with Rothschild's online summer intern application? I am on their website (link below) and when I use the filters "banking", "summer internship", "United States" the website is returning no results. Not sure if I have just missed this application, or if I am looking in the wrong place. Thanks for the help. Link: https://atsv7.wcn.co.uk/search_engine/jobs.cgi

Received offers from UBS, Nomura and Rothschild in HK. I am narrowing it to UBS or Rothschild - which should I choose? UBS - higher return rate, longer hours, traditional IB experience (intern class of 15~, return rate 50%) Rothschild - low return rate, much better hours and culture, more exposure (2 interns last year)

Any thoughts on MB at Rothschild? I am asking about Europe.. Also, I heard that Rothschild has some old school type of MB practice. Any insight on this?

Wall Street Prep's Puneeth Kumar recently caught up with Melinda Barrow, the graduate recruiting & development coordinator at Rothschild. For the uninitiated, Rothschild is a venerable global advisory firm, and remains privately owned by the Rothschild family. Rothschild operates in 42 countries, employing 3000 people. In the United States, business divisions include financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions advisory, restructuring, and equity markets advisory. What does Rothschild look for in a good candidate?

I was curious which group is more highly regarded in the NY office and which allows for better exit ops for PE? Why choose one over the other (obviously personal preference but would love to hear some opinions)?

snagged an interview through an alum for monday; was wondering if anyone had interviewed with them before; any tips/pointers, what is unique about the firm, etc.

Has anyone heard back from Rothschild regarding their February long-term internship in London? Interview experiences? I have heard they are very prompt with rejections but I haven't yet heard a thing.

From efinancialcareers.com, June 18th: "Analyst bonus season is very fast approaching. Rothschild has initiated the excitement, and it appears to be paying handsomely. Based on figures we have elicited in the past, the average third year bonus for an M&A analyst at a first tier house in 2009 was anything from £30-£60k. According to our sources, Rothschild's third year analysts have just been paid anything from £50-£65k. Even better, Rothschild also appears to have increased its salaries. To mark their ascension from analyst to associate, analysts have allegedly had their base pay ramped up from £50k to £70k. In days of yore (2009), recruiters claim they would have had it increased to £62k. "People at Rothschild seem to be very happy," muses one recruiter. "

Hello everyone. I am trying to decide between J.P. Morgan (IBD and Risk) and Rothschild (GFA) spring week offers (London). The problem arises in the fact that JPM and Rothschild clash. At the time of applying both of these firms were at the top of my list of preferences. Here is why: Rothschild: On the one hand, I am drawn to Rothschild because of its smaller size, collegiate culture, smaller teams with good exposure and rich historical heritage, which I foresee may add value to my experience there. A more tangible advantage is the fact that Rothschild hires on a permanent basis, rather than a

Pretty much the title. No BB's mind you, but was curious as to what people's thoughts are. Some thread searching brings up Harris William's PE placement, which is awesome, but I'm still not entirely sure I'd be interested in doing private equity work, I'd just like to keep my options open post-banking. I'm pondering a bit on being in Minneapolis vs NY, but it's not that big of a deal to me. The differences in comp and culture to me haven't really been all that significant so I'd appreciate more input.

I just got an invitation to Rothschild AC in London, but I have an exam at that day - cant skip it. HR told me there is high possibility that all intern spots will be filled then. Does anybody know how many ACs did Rothschild already have and how many summer interns do they hire per year? Questions from Rothschild ACs are welcome as well :) Thanks
