Breaking into S&T 2 years after graduation
I graduated in 2007 from college and had a job waiting for me at a reputable financial advisory firm which I stayed at for a year before shifting into the asset management industry as a junior analyst (non valuation or research based, more of a attribution/portfolio performance role).
I'm looking to move into S&T specifically as a trader. A lot of what I do now is execution only trading but I have no discretion as to what to buy or sell. I just try and find the best prices within the limits set by the PM.
Unfortunately the volume of trading is very light so I'm not getting as much experience as I would like and would like to shift into either a BB or MM bank in a trading capcity.
Would I need to go back to B-school first or would my current experience help me get a foot in the door?
I have traded both futures as well as stocks on my own personal accounts and have done very well for myself if that helps.
Any advice would be grealy appreciated.

anyways for trading, i doubt bschool is of any importance but of course it will still get u to somewhere. u should just apply for direct entry positions and of cos networking is the best..
i cant say much cos just like u, i'm like still in a junior position. but i have seen the more senior pple moving ard to sales and trading, and vice versa.. furthermore this was the advice given by my senior colleagues.. but i reckon you might need about 3-4 years exp to be able to move..
good luck...
