I saw a post about networking with people from IBD - emailing them on their work emails and so on.
Just wondering if this was the same for consulting networking? If so, where can i find out what their email structure is like? And will the initial email have a similar structure i.e. wanting to talk to them about their work/firm?
Is this the same for companies like Google? Will they have gmail accounts though? Thats going to be hard to trace! haha
Thanks in advance.

I suggest establishing a
I suggest establishing a relationship with alumni connections at the specific firm. Also, use LinkedIn to your advantage!
Trouble is that there are
Trouble is that there are literally no connections from my university. Because they all go into finance/IB.
I tried using linked in. Trouble is that I can't add them because they don't 'fit' under one of the categories and saying 'friend' is just weird. lol Thats why I was thinking of emailing them on their work email (like in IB networking). But Im not sure how because I don't know their email.

I've found consultants are a lot less responsive to cold emails for me.

Dunno. Haha I've realized consulting is not for me, and I'm gunning 100% for banking. Sorry man.
BCG's e-mail structure:

I started cold-emailing last week and have been getting very good results. Go at it.
I've had a similar experience
I've had a similar experience as kidflash. Consultants have not been responding to my emails as much as those in other fields. Why would this be?
yea its similar for me

I would say just contact as
I would say just contact as many alumni as possible - I've contacted just over 20 alumni and 15+ have responded. Once you meet with them, at the end of the interview, ask them if they can recommend another one of their colleagues to speak to. 99% they will offer a warm intro, so you essentially kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Once you meet that person, repeat.
Also, many consultants (esp. MBB) are on the road alotta the time, so they may not have the time/patience to look at their schedules for when they'll be back and respond right away. Send a follow-up email?
