“The mentor did a solid job of reducing my resume from two pages to one, which was a positive outcome. However, some revisions affected the clarity and accuracy of the content, requiring me to redo parts of the resume myself to ensure the bullet points accurately reflected my experience and preserved their intended meaning. I also noticed that periods had been added at the ends of the bullet points. Since most, if not all, were sentence fragments rather than complete sentences, this was grammatically incorrect. Another area of feedback concerns the order of the resume sections. My original resume placed professional experience at the top and education at the bottom, but the mentor recommended reversing this arrangement. The subsequent AI resume report recommended an organization closer to my original structure. The mentor was also copied on the AI report, which made the differences between the recommendations particularly noteworthy. Given these inconsistencies, I was left uncertain about the basis for the original recommendations and whether the mentor was familiar with this type of resume assessment. Similarly, the mentor suggested adding information to my education section, whereas the AI report identified that section as being dense. The AI report gave my resume an overall score of 84, with my lowest score in the impact category. This was particularly relevant because the shortened bullet points had lost some of the information demonstrating the impact of my work. In the process of condensing the content, some of the results, accomplishments, and context that helped communicate the value of my contributions were removed or weakened. The “what, how, and result” elements of each bullet point I had was completely removed. A more deliberate balance between brevity and impact would have helped produce a stronger final document. Overall, I appreciated the mentor’s effort in helping me reduce my resume to one page. This was a useful starting point, and the experience highlighted opportunities to improve how my qualifications are presented. ”

Coming from Case Western, I wasn't a finance major, but WSO Academy was a game-changer. I went from sending 50 emails a month to 1,200 in two months using their automation tools. I got Spring Weeks at Goldman and PJT, then a middle market PE internship in NYC. Recruiting from Singapore was tough, but WSO mentors, especially Cindy, helped me figure out what I really wanted and how to prep for interviews that used to scare me.

As an international student and former varsity soccer player, I started with a blank slate—no accounting class, no playbook. WSO’s structure and mentor network turned chaos into a plan. Repetitions on storytelling and case prep built the muscle I needed to push through rejections and ultimately earn my BCG offer.
I came in late, my resume was a mess, and I wasn’t sure I was ready. WSO Academy got me on track fast. They cleaned up my resume, drilled me on technicals, and helped me break into IB with a boutique, then land Wells Fargo. Super helpful mentors who really knew their stuff.
Breaking into finance as a liberal arts international student at Kenyon felt impossible. My resume was a mess, and I was totally lost. But WSO Academy swooped in...
