There was a panel interview for the summer internship position. The interview was conducted by 4 directors. The questions pertained to my understanding of the private fixed income market and the nature of debt transactions. Knowledge the ratios and covenants was key.
Interview Questions
1) Explain how does a road construction project work? This was unexpected as it ventured into project finance.
2) Explain the foreign exchange implications of a long-term project (25 years or more)? This was unexpected as the transactions of the division did not have such a long tenure.
3) Explain in detail as to how would you approach to structure a high yield transaction? This was a difficult question as it entails the taxation, forex, interest rate, covenants, subordination and others topics in once answer.

Straight forward interview process. Applications received all year around, and most applicants with relevant background gets an interview. Very flexible about interview time and date. Welcoming people, but a bit formal culture. Two persons in all interviews, good-cop/bad-cop setting.
