In early 2005, Executive Chairman Naser Nabulsi and a team of professional bankers developed the Al Mal Capital concept.
The goal was to build a multi-line investment institution, and incorporate the best business practices of regional and international institutions - where the original founders had spent the better part of the previous twenty years – within the framework of a truly local financial institution.
An Investment Company license was applied for and received from the Central Bank of the UAE, the first one issued by the regulator in 18 years.
In November 2005, Al Mal Capital was officially established by Ministry of Economy decree, as a Private Joint Stock Company. The Company was founded with 82 prominent UAE and regional families and institutions as shareholders, a Board of Directors with a wealth of banking and business experience, and AED 333 million in capital.
Al Mal Capital’s business activities, directed at banks, institutions, corporate entities and wealthy individuals, currently encompass three main areas:
