Phone Interview

Interview

1st round interview was given by an HR recruiter over the phone. Mainly questions about my strengths, examples of problems I had solved in the past and how I had handled difficult situations. Was not very difficult. 2nd round interview was by member of the Risk Group also over the phone. He asked 3-4 technical questions, and much more complex problem solving questions. This was much more difficult.

Interview Questions

What is VAR?
I did not know, so I told the interviewer so. He then told me that the other 2nd round applicants did know, then he proceeded to explain what value at risk was.
Give me an example of a time you conducted in-depth analysis.
I talked about an economics paper I wrote and gave him some of the statistical evidence I found in support of my thesis.
