Interview
The interview process was pretty informal as the senior partners knew who I was before hand. Initially, I had an informal phone interview basically to see what I wanted to do, and that turned into a more formal in person interview that went over my investment framework, and a few pitch ideas.
Interview Questions
The most difficult questions were regarding my path to the industry, and why I didn't do the typical strategy of business degree, investment banking, private equity, business school etc. I also wasn't expecting as many macro related questions in regards to emerging markets or my thoughts on interest rates and foreign exchange flows. They also threw out a few tickers of companies and asked me what I thought, and it was implied that I should know these companies well enough to have a discussion with them.

Presentation
Interview
There was an initial phone interview followed by 3 on-site interviews at their office in Westchester. First interview was with the hiring manager/PM. Second was with some other PMs. Final interview was with the firm's father/son principals. Interviews were all 1-on-1. There was also a research project that I had to submit. Overall experience was pleasant. People were friendly. Office was very quiet. Culture seemed to be laid back. Saw signs of disorganization throughout the interview process - nothing seriously alarming, but noteworthy.
Interview Questions
What are your thoughts on the markets/economy? Not really a difficult question per se, but it's very open ended so you need to know where you're gonig with that.
Do you want to be a PM later in your career? Can be tricky because you don't want to imply that you're out to take the job of the person hiring you.

Background Check
Interview
Applied on LinkedIn, got a call from HR shortly after to discuss interest. Scheduled multiple rounds with the department I would be working with. Met with GC/CCO/COO, then two senior compliance officers, finally had 3rd round interviews with CEO/President. Process lasted around two months.
Interview Questions
Why would you like to work in Compliance? I interned for a regulator during my undergrad and it would be natural progression for my career. Interesting and challenging work.
Why would you prefer to work at a small firm vs. a large firm? Familial environment, understand the entire business much better.
