Interview
As the firm was on the West Coast and I am from the Mid West all interviews were conducted over the phone. I first spoke with HR then after being deemed worthy I spoke with various members of the research department.
Interview Questions
They asked a mix of personal "fit" questions as well as general open ended finance questions. An example would be "why are you interested?' or "What do you read?". Really the questions were just to see how well I could articulate myself. The questions regarding experience and why I would be worth were the toughest as I come from a non-target and had limited experience at the time. One of the more senior interviewers asked me if I liked sports which was terrifying because I do not. A little white lie never hurt anybody though, right?
