Financial Analyst Intern

Initial and final round interviews were both over the phone as I was out-of-state. The first round consisted primarily of behavioral and accounting questions, including a few curve balls about the mechanics behind inventory accounting and contribution margin. (I come from a non-business/accounting background.)

Before the final round, I was given a case study to evaluate potential promotion strategies based on historical financials from an Excel file, and asked to write a 200-300 word "email" to a hypothetical manager explaining my choice.

The final round interview was in two parts; the first interviewer asked me to walk them through my decision on the case study and probed me with follow-up questions, though nothing too hard if you made the right call. The second interviewer asked mainly behavioral/fit questions, mainly on how I'd respond in situations X, Y and Z.
