Summer Consulting Analyst

I submitted a resume and cover letter through my school's Career Drive, and was very surprised to be selected for an interview. I am a first year student with sophomore standing (graduating in three years), and the listing said they took juniors but would consider sophomores. I only had a first behavioral interview, and the alumni interviewing me were very nice. Interviews were supposed to be on campus, but awful weather conditions meant they had to be over skype. Unfortunately, my connection was spotty (I had just finished a conference meeting inside the UN headquarters) so they could not hear me over skype and we ended up doing a phone interview. My career center mock interviewer had previously told me I had to clarify to them that I'm a first year, despite having turned in my transcript which I thought should have made my status obvious. Yet when I clarified to them that I was a first year on a 3 year graduation track, they looked surprised. They asked very general questions, and even tried to make a question about quantitative analysis easier for me by saying I could give them an example of qualitative analysis instead. I had no technical problems.
