Interview
I applied online in early May and received an offer to interview in mid-June from someone with Dartmouth partners. It was all behavioral questions. What do you like to do for fun? What's your greatest strength? What's an aquiline deal that interests you? Why are you a good fit? Why aquiline? Why private equity? How did you learn about finance?

Interview
Resume drop/coffee chat on campus transition into final round interviews at NYC office. Final rounds cycled through 5 - 10 investment professionals of various tenure each for around 20 minutes - younger guys focused on technical & industry knowledge, older on fit.

Great, quick, organized process.
Interview Questions
Generally focused on understanding industry dynamics around Aquiline's primary verticals (Fintech, Banking & Credit, Insurance/InsurTech).

Personally had some questions on investing intuition (multiple interpretations, leverage effects, drivers of LBO). Had a short discussion on debt tranches and under what circumstances we should consider interest rate/credit default swaps.

At the end of the day, fit seemed quite important. Looking for individuals that want to jump buy-side out of undergrad and have a true passion for buyouts/growth cap in the financials space.

Coffee chat on campus with one HR person and one Investment Professional. Then two rounds of interviews at HQ about a month later. Met with around 5-10 different Investment Professionals in different sectors of the firm.
Interview Questions
Why do we use Gross Profit over Net Income or EBITDA when evaluating a company?
Why Aquiline? Why private equity? Why financial services?
How do you value a company? Walk me through a basic LBO.
Specific questions about things I had listed on my resume. Some of the people I interviewed with really grilled me on my resume, so be prepared to talk at length about everything you have listed.
Other interviewers were more laid-back and didn't ask any technicals, just questions like: What's your favorite movie? Favorite book? etc
