First talk to BD then a timed OA after that they invite to talk to several PMs that are interested. Interview
Interviewed as a lateral hire (from another buy-side shop) for the same set of TMT coverage, so it was relatively smoother. Did phone interviews w/ the PM and his Analyst, then an on-site case for 4 hours, then met director of research and few more analyst & PMs before wrapping up.
Interview Questions
Questions were standard behavioral plus stock pitches within and outside of my coverage space. Case study was on a internet company, modeling was less the focus since you won't have enough time to build detailed quarterly. Key is to identify the 2-3 main drivers of the company (PxQ and margins) and pinpoint what could swing your thesis to either a long or short if you had more time & Info to diligence the key drivers. One interesting behavioral that was asked is what do you think your key competitive advantage is (not just for this job but for the l/s equity industry).

Interview
Fairly straight-forward and casual interview process vs. Citadel & Surveyor. Process consists of a one-on-one conversation with their BusDev (internal recruiter), followed by more focused conversation with the PM and one or two other PM's in the office. At the initial stage, conversation was extremely high level, focused on prior research and coverage experience, some general thoughts about how your research process looks, and some probing to see how well you understand their investment style. At times this firm came across a bit lackadaisical (especially relative to Citadel), although this may have been a function of my personal lack of fit with the role. My sense is they are fairly risk-averse in hiring. If you have a couple years of Millennium, Citadel, P72 etc on your resume, and have experience covering the group they are hiring for, you stand a very good shot at advancing here.
Interview Questions
Again, very casual, no really tricky questions. I think questions around how you think about risk management are always potentially tricky and reveal a lot about a candidates understanding of these roles. We discussed management access and touch points, which are probably a major disadvantage at a firm like this compared with some of the long-only peers. General thoughts about my coverage group, which are obviously going to be very candidate / role specific. I suspect the subsequent round with the PM would have gone much more in detail on process, stocks and coverage thoughts.

Interview
Applied through school and heard back after 1-2 months. Pretty straight forward interview process - went to the office, met the analyst and PMs. They gave me an offer in the afternoon.

Discussion regarding mental math, brain teaser, macro, stock market and life philosophy. It is a bschool intern position so nothing really challenging.
Interview Questions
Nothing really unexpected. I have been working part time over the school term so following the market was pretty natural to me.
