The first interview was organised within 3 weeks of the initial application. The interview was over the phone, the interviewer went over my background briefly. He asked general Java coding questions (I have specified the language of the interview as Java).
Garbage collection in Java vs C++. Memory Leak. Explain Merge Sort algorithm in detail. Computational complexity of Merge Sort and Bubble sort algorithms.

After the initial interview they invited me on-site. I had two Software Engineers interviewing me. Right from the start they were sceptical about the fact that I did not want to write the code in C++, but preferred Java, despite the fact that in the job description they specify that background any programming language is good.

How would you imagine Bloomberg organises their Bloomberg Terminal systems from the engineering point of view.
Write a program to calculate the length of a branch in a given binary tree.
