IBD Summer Analyst

I was referred to the IBD recruiting process by an alumni who worked there in the ECM department.

BMO does not recruit until it is done with it's core school process, so for anyone who attends a non target for BMO, you won't start the process until pretty late.

First rounds consist of two thirty minute phone interviews with an analyst or an associate. I was called back to back, so the entire process lasted about one hour. The analyst who interviewed me was really nice and asked me some brain teasers, as well as some technical information. The associate however was a real big ass, and asked me a bunch of questions on the history of securities that I didn't know about. The reason he did this was because I wrote in my interests that I enjoyed history of finance, but his questions went way overboard, as if he was somehow offended that I would list this as an interest.

In the end I was rejected.
